My name is Poobalan. I hail from Klang, Malaysia. This blog is my contribution to the online community. I cover a range of topics that is mostly relevant to the Malaysian Indian community. This includes social, political, economic, and religious/spiritual issues. This blog also focuses on Tamil schools, education, equal rights, ethnic relations, Indian political parties and NGOs, plus occasionally my interests – movies, gardening, photography, and my dog.  I also write about interesting places I visit.  Between November and July, I would talk about post-SPM/STPM options and scholarships. Good evening Poobalan Sir.

I’m a student from Management and Science University (MSU), currently I’m doing my degree in Bachelor Forensic Science and I found out that it is very difficult to get scholarships for forensic science courses. I have completed my diploma in Applied Science previously and now I’m in my first semester of degree.I really looking for financial aids since my family having difficulties to support my education fees. Sir please help me out. Really looking forward for your reply Sir. Thank you Sir.

Scholarships specific for Forensic Science is indeed difficult. I don’t think there is any. You can only apply for those open scholarships. At the moment not many are open. Most scholarships will open around SPM/STPM results time.

      Are you eligible for PTPTN?

      • Vinod says:

Thanks for the reply Sir. Okay Sir,noted. Yes, I just applied for PTPTN, but the amount that are allocated for my course from PTPTN is not enough Sir, so the extra amount for my degree course, I have to cover by myself Sir. That is the reason why I am looking for scholarships.

Sir, I have 2 questions here. The first one is, is there any other scholarships for now and Sir can you suggest me any of that?

Second question is, is there any financial aids or scholarships for indian communities since I saw a post in a blog recently (Tan Sri Manickavasagam Scholarship Fund)?

        • poobalan says:

hi sorry for very late reply. list of scholarship is not maintained at the moment. i suggest you refer to afterschool.my/scholarship for open scholarships. i hope to continue updating scholarship info starting next year only.

      • Vinod says:

Okay Sir. Yes, I’m eligible for ptptn but I’m looking for scholarships since I really need financial aid Sir.

Sir, I have one question here. Is there any scholarships that MIC or any other Indian committee offering Sir?

        • poobalan says:

MIC has the Tan Sri Manikavasagam and MIED only. Others is like MCEF or Indian High Commission. Some temples and NGO also offer, but very little amount and mostly one-off.

    Hi Poobalan,

Firstly I would like to acknowledge what you’re doing, I’m just astounded with your contribution to all fellow netizens answering their questions very diligently. Keep it up, friend.

    My Question to you.

We have already applied for Tekun Loan and gave a proposal of RM30K however, the amount approved was RM9K. We have paid for almost 1 year now. If we would like to re-apply for the financial aid what would be the requirement? We are thinking of applying but in the shadow of the process involved. Please advice.

    Thank you

Hi sorry for late reply. once you have applied and successfully completed repayment, it will be easier to get next application. just need go through same process and inform that earlier loan has been repaid.
