Why opposition can’t win
Good example of why the opposition can muff whatever small chances they have. If even over a seat they can disagree, what more over critical things like allocations, laws etc?

PETALING JAYA: DAP and Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) have failed to reach an understanding for a straight fight against Barisan Nasional in the Sungai Siput parliamentary seat and Jalong state seat.
PSM election director K. Segar said DAP was unwilling to give up the seats although Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) had agreed that the seats should be given to PSM.
He said the situation was similar to the 2004 general election, when there was also a three-cornered fight with DAP.
PSM, using PKR’s logo, came out second while DAP’s candidate lost his deposit.
“Party rank and file members as well as supporters have been getting very impatient with this impasse and have strongly indicated that if there is no straight fight, then the party should just field candidates in other state seats in Perak, where the party is strong and has a good following,” Segar said.
The statement also said PSM national chairman Dr Nasir Hashim would be fielded for the Kota Damansara state seat and secretary-general S. Arutchelvan will be contesting in the Semenyih state seat, both on the PKR ticket.
