S. Krishnamoorthy (left), who saved 18 passengers in the recent ferry tragedy off Pulau Tioman, receiving a mock cheque for RM10,000 last month received RM10,000 receiving the mocked cheque from KL Central Kiwanis Club charter president Ian Pereira. “What this young man has done should be an example to us all,” said Pereira. Also present was Krishnamoorthy’s father, B. Sandaran, 41, a former schoolbus driver. The club felt that Krishnamoorthy was more than worthy of the award for his act of bravery. — NST picture by Asman Ibrahim
