Killi

Violence and murder against women ? who MIC ? Samy Vellu ? You have proof ?

In any case I can't remember Samy claiming to be Gandhi's devotee. It was the HINDRAF/Makkal Samadhi who did.

BTW the letter by Joe Fernandez is so silly that my teenaged niece could do a better job.

Mauriya

Please think before you write. It is obvious that you have no idea of the situation concerning Indians in this country yet now you seems to be so worked up and demanding for SV's head when he is one of the people who had been working hard.

It is stupid to expect MIC to be solely responsible for everything that needed for the Indian community. Where were the Indian champions (HINDRAF, Makkal Samdhi, etc) ? Where were YOU ?

MIC is just a political party and not a welfare organization. It is not as powerful as MCA, Gerakan or DAP because the Indians do not contribute to the party yet expect MIC to do everything for them. The role of MIC is political representation and strategic.

You do seriously think Samy doesn't have the data ? You think MIC doesn't know what is needed for the community ?

If you even had the tiniest interest in the community and had read the local Tamil and Englis papers you will know the MIC had been galvanizing the community to bring the Indians to the next level in the last several years.

You know what, this shows your total ignorance. It shows you were not bothered about the community in the past and all of a sudden become so interested and started barking at the MIC.

Let me ask you, when the MIC was asking the community to come up with ideas and help, what you were doing ? Sleeping ?

People like you are the real Ettapan for the society.

In a face to face debate, people like you and HINDRAF/Makkal Samadhi will be torn to pieces....

(from Malaysiakini)
Samy Vellu's failure due to civil service
Joe Fernandez | Mar 2, 08 4:23pm

The Chinese always get their politics and relationships right. They are the most matured

political community in Malaysia. You can’t fool them even once. They are too practical. That's why Chinese political parties, especially those in government, are forced to be as democratic as possible.

This is not the case in the other political parties in Malaysia. A Samy Vellu would not last even one minute in a Chinese political party in government. They would not tolerate their intelligence being insulted. Indians, like the KadazanDusunMuruts to a certain extent, and the Orang Asli, Dayaks and Sarawak Malays, tend to have a slave mentality and put up with lots of nonsense until pushed into a corner. The younger Indian voters may see things differently.

Chinese BN candidates will only win their seats if they hold government posts. Even this is not sure. The same goes for BN’s Indian candidates on paper.

A BN Indian or Chinese candidate cannot be expected to do much if he or she doesn't hold a government post. Even those who hold government posts sometimes cant do much because the civil service is largely Malay.

The failure of MIC President S Samy Vellu, for example, is largely due to the Malay-dominated civil service. They sit on the required funds and only release them in drips and drabs when forced to do so and they have no choice. A Tamil school, for example, has to leak buckets before it gets a few hundred dollars to patch the roof with some bitumen gum. By that time, the children would be

reduced to standing in one corner to escape the pouring rain.

The Umno-dominated BN has forfeited its moral right to govern the non-Malays in the same way as Belgrade in Serbia has forfeited its moral right to govern Kosovo and in the same way that KL forfeited its moral right to govern Singapore.

What we have is a Malay civil service, not a Malaysian civil service. Similarly, the police lacks credibility. What we have is a Malay police force, not a Malaysian police force.

The judiciary is also a Malay judiciary. Hence, their bending over backwards to accommodate syariah law at the expense of the non-Malays, non-Muslims and the secular federal constitution.

I would say, don't worry too much about heaven or hell. We will know when we get there. Meanwhile, live for others so that your existence on Earth has some meaning, sense and purpose. Make a difference. Help reduce the suffering of others. Decide whether you are going to be a blessing or a curse. Don't waste your life going around in circles.

As the only Indian minister representing the MIC in the cabinet for umpteen years did he initiate a survey to find out the actual number of Indians holding positions (breakdown figures at all levels) in the following:
1. all government departments.

2. the Police force.

3. government and government aided schools and institutes of higher learning (including MARA institutes and University ITM).

4. government (JPA) scholarship awarded to Indians to pursue their tertiary studies locally as well as overseas compared to Malays and Chinese.

5. all privatised entities such as Telekom Malaysia, TNB, Railways (KTM) and privatised highway projects as well as Indian equity if any.

6.the intake of Indians in the Medical, Science & Engineering,Dental and Law faculties in all the local universities during the last 10 years compared to the Malays and Chinese.

7. the public transport sector including the number of transport companies operated by Indians.

8. taxi licences given to Indians.

9. Petronas and the Indian participation in running petrol stations

10. housing development

11. Apart from the above does the MIC know the number of Indians displaced when the estates were taken over by the various State Development Corporations. Eg. PKNS

12. Did the MIC find out what happened to those poor Indians and did they get any reasonable compensation from the private companies or the government?

13. Only recently the MIC is aware that there are thousands of poor Indians without birth certificates and Mykad.

14. Why can't elected representatives voice the plight of Indians in parliament? Is that privilege only for the UMNO? Or is it only for Samy Velu to talk to his UMNO buddies.

If the MIC had done the above and brought facts and figures to the cabinet and asked for their rightful share, the position of Indians now would not be that of third class citizens.

In certain cases the Indonesians and other immigrants who have taken over the labour force in the plantation industry are financially in a better position.
