Indians in Cabinet 2008

Posted by poobalan at 1:58 pm under Indian | | View blog reactions

Well, PM pulled off some surprises - Rafidah, JJ, Azmi Khalid…all gone. Instead, we get Shahrir (MP Johor Bahru), Zaid Ibrahim (not selected as election candidate), and Amirsham (just retired as Maybank CEO). As for the Indian representatives, Dr S. is promoted to Human Resource Minister, while takes over as Deputy Minister in PM’s Department. Another man, got Deputy Federal Territory Minister post. Most surprisingly, a Dewan Negara Senator - A. Kohilan Pillay [full name: A. Kohilan Pillay a/l G. Appu], who is in his early 40s, ( central commitee member) have been made Deputy Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister. This is how he looks like:

One Response to “Indians in Cabinet 2008”

I think the main issue with MIC is the level of education within its leadership community itself.

MIC seem to be governed by Malaysian Indians who come across as rude, obnoxious thugs rather than educated, compassionate and caring individuals.

The manner in which they have ignored the MAIKA issue, the poor indians in the estates and the horrible condition of the Tamil schools are testament to a breed of individuals who seem to put personal gain before the community they are supposedly committed to assist and develop.

Educated and capable individuals are not welcomed but considered “trouble makers”.

    Why?

Because we are a threat to these high powered individuals.

all I can say is that maybe leaving the opposition (although they can’t be called that anymore…..alternative would be a better word) to fight our Malaysian Indian battles may turn out to be a blessing.

just my honest 2 cents worth.
