ISA detainee Vasantha’s daughter sick

I don’t think the emotional factor will sway the Home Minister. The situation is quite clear. Under no circumstances should the detainees be released.  Better still if they die due to some illness. I think that is the strategy now. If not, when some coalition partners ask for release and other partners do not object, why the Home Ministry not doing anything except saying still waiting for police feedback? As long as no order from the boss, nothing moves.  Vishaleny Ihave to wait longer.

KUALA LUMPUR: detainee and Hindu Rights Action Force () coordinator K. Vasantha Kumar’s wife K. Vickneswary wants the authorities to allow her husband to visit their ailing daughter. Their four-year-old daughter, V. Vishaleny, had been having a fever since last week and was admitted to a private hospital in Cheras yesterday when her temperature shot up.

The 35-year-old Human Resources Coordinator said their daughter was exceptionally close to her father and his absence in recent months has taken a toll on her health.

Vickneswary hoped Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar would understand her predicament and allow Vasantha Kumar time off to visit their daughter.

“She is yearning for him and I am afraid that her condition will deteriorate if she doesn’t get to see her father soon,” said Vickneswary.

Vasantha Kumar is currently held at the Kamunting Detention Centre with fellow leaders P. Uthayakumar, M. Manoharan, V, Ganabatirau and R. Kenghadaran.
