After reading a recent report about the sadistic “ragging” incident involving an air force Pilot trainee by his seniors at a base in Kedah ,(lurid details
I shall not mention),I think this tendency of rank ill treatment at schools as reported above will lead to the following consequences.Students ,not at the receiving end, who witnessed their peers who were the victims ,may in some cases show empathy ,which is a desireable human reaction,others may develop undesireable sadistic tendencies to follow the inhuman example
in post student life as was the case during the sadistic ragging I quote above.
A teacher, in hierarchy of honour, comes just below God and parents.Every teacher must realize that before taking up this honoured profession,to mould
students in his/her onerous charge.This will foster growth of a healthy society.
