Sungai Palas BOH Tea Plantation

Had the chance to visit Sungai Palas Tea Plantation, which belongs to BOH. The trip was at late afternoon, so no sunrise/sunset shots. The turn-off to Sungai Palas estate was about 2 minutes from Equatorial Hotel (heading towards Simpang Pulai). From the turn-off, its a 2km horror trip of single lane road. Its still seems to be a miracle how we could actually end up at the plantation. The curves were sharp and narrow, one wrong turn of the wheel, and its free fall into the tea plantation down below.

The Viewing Deck cum Cafe

Along the way, I saw some workers picking leaves and others carrying the sacks. There was also a temple near the quarters, along with SJKT Sungai Palas.

Once we reached the top, there was a tour to the tea factory, which was being repainted and not in production at that time (already afternoon). The guide provided a brief explanation of the equipments being used in the factory.

Then, a bit of shopping at the souvenir and products shop.

Entered the viewing deck and took some pictures of the plantation. The deck is extended off the cliff and its basically the seating area of the cafe. Also packed a cup of tea since lack of time.

I’ll say this is a must-go trip if you are heading to Cameron Highlands. Its closed on Monday and opening hours are 8.30am to 4.30pm. Try to go early morning to catch the mist and sunrise.
