marriage course for malaysians

I see the non-existence of compulsory marriage course for non-privileged malaysians as a form of . Why should it be provided for certain segment of the society only? Isn’t a happy family vital for practically everything that our leaders want our country to achieve? From economic progress to national unity, a strong and stable family is critical, yet we can’t even seem to have a fair provision in providing marriage courses.

Now, ’s Deputy Minister says that a memorandum will be submitted (by whom under what capacity?) to provide compulsory marriage course for non-malays. Can this be also included in the Cabinet Committee for Indian Community?

A MEMORANDUM will be submitted to the Government urging it to make it compulsory for non-Muslims to attend marriage courses before their wedding, said Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Senator T. .

He was reported in the Malaysia Nanban as saying that the number of divorces among the Indian community had risen tremendously.

The Government could give approval to a marriage after the bride and groom present their certificate of attendance at the marriage course, he said.

Kayveas threatens BN over ISA

I think haven’t get the point yet. When their invited VIP, Ali Rustam, told to get out of BN during Malacca’s AGM, any self-respecting party would have burn effigies of their enemy, protested day and night, raise a ruckus everyday, and pick a fight with all and sundry. But, the mosquito party, devoid of any such sense, just kept quiet.

And now, what a joke that their leader dare to threaten the coalition? People already asked you to get lost, but you still saying I”ll go, I’ll go, I’ll go!

It seems since Youth and Wanita wants to leave BN if is not amended.

Deputy Minister said that:

Youth leader T said the party did not support the use of the against the ordinary citizens of Malaysia.

“The was designed to handle a terrorist threat and should be used nly for that purpose,” he added.

Well, would walk the talk, or swallow their pride and stick with BN? I think PM Badawi had mentioned clearly that the would not be amended or changed.

By the way, won’t join the opposition if it ever quits, says .

PS: would be appointed to supreme council and nominated as vice president since he is without a position in the party. He did not stand for Youth chief due to age.

Murugiah on Indians without identification documents

Posted by poobalan under Indian | View blog reactions

As NRD opens its counters on weekends (half-day) from mid December onwards to tackle the stateless people case, Deputy Minister provides some insight on why there are Indians without identification documents:

He said that some of the Indians who came to see him did not have birth certificates because their parents had not registered their births.

“As a result, they are unable to apply for an identity card, attend school, get a job or register their marriage.

“They live in perpetual fear of being nabbed and detained along with illegal immigrants.

“Their predicament is the result of their parents, mostly estate workers, being illiterate, poor, ignorant or irresponsible.”

said most were displaced when plantations made way for development.

“Some of them may have misplaced or lost their documents and cannot trace them. They have given up hope of getting replacements because of NRD’s stringent procedures.”

Meanwhile, NRD director says:

He said NRD staff members would sit down with these people and try to identify the problem.

“But unless they come to us and give us some proof of being Malaysians we cannot help.

“Our officers will thoroughly investigate all cases. If they do not have any form of documents they could be foreigners trying to stay on in Malaysia or illegals.”

This is a good move as groups like MIC Youth and NGOs can make use of weekends to help the community.
