One guy even won an assembly seat while being kept in \u00a0detention for more than 2 months. He trashed the Gerakan leader in Klang by majority of 7000+ votes. The Klang people want him,\u00a0but\u00a0can they have him? <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Looks like MHS having a new leash of energy. They just came out with statement on recent election. The Sangam is calling all state governments to work with it to solve the temple problems. Perhaps it should seek an appointment with relevant new chief ministers as soon as they are appointment to initiate a dialogue and the proper groundwork.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Congratulations Malaysia! All parties &#8211; the Government, the Opposition parties, the Elections Commission, the Police and most importantly, the Rakyat, deserve full praise for ensuring that the democratic process of our nation has been effected most efficiently.<\/p>\n<p>The outcome of the General Elections reflects the will of the people, and we must now move on with the business of ensuring a progressive and harmonious nation for all Malaysians from all walks of life.<\/p>\n<p>Malaysia Hindu Sangam, being the representative body of the Hindu Community of Malaysia, is committed to working closely with the Federal Government as well as all State Governments in addressing the socio-cultural development issues and problems affecting all Malaysians &#8211; the Hindu community in particular. Our goal is to facilitate the continued activation of many of our programmes designed to improve the quality of life of the Malaysian Hindu Community. This includes improving appreciation of human values and religious knowledge amongst our youth and children, as well as welfare based activities such as free tuition classes for children from poor families, food aid, medical assistance, legal aid, etc. These programmes are largely activated in conjunction with temples all over Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p>In this respect, <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>we call on the new Government &#8211; both at the Federal and State levels &#8211; to urgently engage with Hindu Sangam in overcoming some of pending regulatory issues affecting several temples around the country<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Certainly, this will ensure that the temples are able to continue effectively playing their roles as partners with the Government to ensuring a progressive, harmonious Malaysian community with strong moral and ethical values.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>We also call on the newly appointed Prime Minister, YAB Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, to immediately release the 5 leaders of Hindraf, who are being held without trial under the ISA.
