Hard work pays off for ‘bookworm’<\/h5>\n

KUALA LUMPUR: His friends called him a bookworm and refused to include him in their social circle.\u00a0 Yesterday, Dhanaraj discovered he scored 14 A1s in the SPM examination, and that was all the reward he needed for the hard work he put in to ensure that he excelled in his studies.<\/p>\n\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

But T. Dhanaraj, 18, did not mind as all he cared about were his books. “There was peer pressure and there were times I felt tempted but now with this, all the hard work was worthwhile,” he said.<\/p>\n

Dhanaraj attributed his success to the modules and motivation courses provided by Sri Murugan Centre (SMC), where he had enrolled a year ago<\/strong><\/span>. Dhanaraj was among 20 students who were given accolades as top SPM achievers by SMC, an annual honour given by the institution to reward their outstanding students. Dhanaraj hopes to get a scholarship to further his studies in medicine.<\/p>\n

Joining the 20 were eight top STPM achievers from SMC institutions nationwide. K. Nagajothi, one of the STPM top achiever recipient, said SMC’s motivation technique was so powerful that students could not think of anything else but scoring a string of As<\/strong><\/span>.
