The new government has announced 10,000 sq ft land and RM40,000 from the developer. Great news, except that this was also announced last year by Khir Toyo! Does this mean the community is seeing double? Or is a case of promises made real? Khir Toyo promised, but Khalid approved it. No matter how it is looked at, the land and money is still coming from one source &#8211; the developer. Let&#8217;s see what the state government office, Khir Toyo, Samy Vellu, and Kamal Ganapathy said last year:<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The state secretary&#8217;s office did issue <a href=\"http:\/\/poobalan.com\/blog\/indian\/2007\/11\/27\/selangor-govt-replies-to-padang-jawa-temple-demolition\/\">statement<\/a> (another one <a href=\"http:\/\/poobalan.com\/blog\/borninmalaysia\/2007\/11\/27\/selangor-govt-provide-more-info-on-padang-jawa-temple-status\/\">here<\/a>) that a plot was allocated by the developer before it was allowed to proceed with demolition notice. The said that EXCO Sivalingam (who passed away earlier) also knew about it.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Setelah pemaju menyediakan tapak kuil tersebut barulah notis ketiga dikeluarkan pada 3 Oktober 2007.<\/p>\n<p>Penyediaan tapak kuil ini adalah persetujuan yang telah pun dinyatakan oleh pemilik kuil dan juga telah dipersetujui lebih awal oleh oleh Mendiang Dato K Sivalinggam dalam mesyuarat EXCO Kerajaan Negeri tahun lalu. Kedua-duanya memberi persetujuan dengan syarat tapak kuil baru disediakan sebelum dirobohkan tapak sedia ada.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>Rentetan daripada itu, pihak Majlis telah mengeluarkan notis meroboh 308 struktur yang ada di tapak iaitu 304 rumah, 1 unit surau dan 3 unit kuil. Sebagai gantian satu tapak untuk kuil dan surau akan disediakan di kawasan berhampiran.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This was Samy <a href=\"http:\/\/poobalan.com\/blog\/indian\/2007\/11\/11\/samy-vellu-hurt-over-temple-demolition\/\">said<\/a> after the temple was demolished:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Samy Vellu said the state government had allocated a 10,000 square feet land in Shah Alam for the temple to be rebuilt. &#8220;The menteri besar has given his word that they will help to rebuild the temple.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Khir Toyo on 8th December <a href=\"http:\/\/poobalan.com\/blog\/borninmalaysia\/2007\/12\/09\/khir-toyo-meets-padang-jawa-folks\/\">announced<\/a> that RM40,000 has been given by developer to rebuilt the temple.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>On the demolished temple, Dr Khir said the developer had given RM40,000 to the temple committee to build a new one at the site given by the developer.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Khir Toyo and Kamala Ganapathy also said the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Selangor Unity and Plantation Workers committee chairman Kamala Ganapathy said following the temple demolition, the landowner had prepared a <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">10,000 sq ft<\/span> site to enable the temple to be moved behind the Keretapi Tanah Melayu workers quarters at Rimba Jaya.<\/p>\n<p>Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo said that many people had misunderstood the Rimba Jaya temple issue.<\/p>\n<p>He said the state was unable to give land as the temple was on private property. He said the state had acted in the interest of the squatters. The builder was required to provide a housing area for the squatters, places of worship and two kindergartens, including one for the Indians, before it developed the land.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Hopefully this is not a new syndrome affecting new government &#8211; &#8220;lembu punya susu, sapi dapat nama&#8221; (cow&#8217;s milk, but buffalo gets name)!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Demolished Hindu temple to be rebuilt on new site<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestar.com.my\/news\/story.asp?file=\/2008\/3\/17\/nation\/20080317191838&amp;sec=nation\" target=\"_blank\">source<\/a><\/p>\n<p>SHAH ALAM: A new site for the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Kampung Rimba Jaya, Padang Jawa, which was demolished in November last year <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">has been approved<\/span><\/strong>. Mayor Mazalan Md Noor said the <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">temple would be rebuilt soon on a 10,000sq feet land near the Keretapi Tanah Melayu quarters<\/span><\/strong>, a much bigger site than the original temple.<\/p>\n<p>He was speaking to reporters after Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Shah Alam MP Khalid Abd Samad visited the Rimba Jaya flats Monday. The Hindu temple was ordered torn down by the authorities as it stood in the vicinity of the Rimba Jaya squatter settlement. The 11ha site in the area is owned by Ken Rimba Jaya Sdn Bhd.<br \/>\n&#8220;The developer has been directed by the state government <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>to provide the land and RM40,000, the cost of the building construction<\/strong><\/span>. &#8220;It is up to the temple committee and the developer to decide when to start the temple construction,&#8221; he said. Mazalan said the <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Shah Alam City Council had cleared up the land<\/span><\/strong> to make way for the temple project.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Khalid and Anwar had a dialogue with the Kampung Rimba Jaya residents and the demolition of the temple was among the hottest issues raised during the 15-minute meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Khalid said the new state government was working hard to solve the squatter problems in the state.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Now I&#8217;m confused.
