The National MIC leaders earlier had met <\/a>Selangor MIC leaders in which Samy Vellu addressd them. The same old issues were raised. However, at the same time, some division leaders in Selangor who were unhappy with Samy Vellu, organised another meeting<\/a> to ask him to be removed.<\/p>\n

Krishnamurthy, the Kuala Langat youth chairman asked an important question:<\/p>\n

“Maybe we should now ask these people, ‘what have we not done for you?'”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

PETALING JAYA: The MIC may have lost big in the general election, but its Selangor Youth wing has not given up. It is determined to wrest back the state from the DAP-PKR-Pas government. Its chief, P. Subramaniam, said the party accepts the defeat, and is now trying to improve to win back voters. “We will work to be more service-oriented and will look into the problems facing the youth. “We will also help people with scholarships and loans for education,” he said after chairing a closed-door meeting with some 70 members of the Selangor MIC Youth from 22 divisions.<\/p>\n

During the 90-minute meeting, members discussed the reasons for the defeat, the main areas and issues that needed immediate attention and how to improve the party’s performance in the next elections.<\/p>\n

In his address, deputy president R. Suresh said it was shocking and frustrating to have lost after all the hard work during the campaign. “Now, many people will try to provoke us. My advice to MIC members is: don’t be angry and don’t be provoked. Avoid the situation. Otherwise it will end up in a fight.”<\/p>\n

Kuala Langat MIC Youth chief K. Krishnamurthi said people were also saying that MIC only made empty promises and that it has not done anything for the community. “Maybe we should now ask these people, ‘what have we not done for you?'” he said.<\/p>\n

Gombak MIC Youth leader M. Gunasegar added that motivational talks and camps must be organised to help lift the spirits of MIC members.<\/p>\n

Subramaniam told a news conference later that those who needed advice or help could go to the party’s service centre in Sunway, which is open every Wednesday from 6pm to 9pm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
