This makes him the 4 assemblyman to have HR as a portfolio, after Negeri Sembilan, Johor and Penang. Malacca, Kedah, and Selangor EXCO don&#8217;t handle HR.<\/p>\n<p>What we see here is that Indians are not capable of handling more important portfolios like trade, finance, etc.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Or is it all a political game and EXCOs are chosen based on some sort of quota that includes race rather than capability?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Perak names exco portfolios<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By HAH FOONG LIAN<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestar.com.my\/news\/story.asp?file=\/2008\/3\/31\/nation\/20080331145224&amp;sec=nation\" target=\"_blank\">source<\/a><\/p>\n<p>IPOH: The Perak government has announced its list of portfolios held by its state executive council (exco) members after its first meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Mentri Besar Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin will take charge of <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">economic development, land, land revenue and natural resources, security, and rural development<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the list of portfolios handed out by the Mentri Besar&#8217;s Office, it states that <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Perak DAP chief Ngeh Koo Ham is also named senior exco member<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Ngeh, who is also Sitiawan assemblyman, will be in charge of <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">finance, infrastructure and public utilities, energy and water, and non-Islamic affairs<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Pantai Remis assemblyman Nga Kor Ming will handle the portfolio of <strong>Education, Local Government, Housing and Public Transport<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Sungkai assemblyman A. Sivanesan will take care of <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>health, environment and human resources<\/strong><\/span> while Pasir Bedamar assemblyman Seah Leong Peng will take charge of <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>culture, youth and sports<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Keranji assemblyman Chen Fook Chye has been named chairman of the state <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Unity and National Integration, and Consumer Affairs<\/span><\/strong> Committee while Pasir Pinji assemblyman Thomas Su Keong Siong is chairman of <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>Perak Higher Education, Science, Technology and Communications<\/strong><\/span> Committee.<\/p>\n<p>PKR&#8217;s Behrang assemblyman Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi will handle matters relating to <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">entrepreneur development and cooperative, agriculture and trade<\/span><\/strong> while Kuala Sapetang assemblyman Tai Sing Ng will be in charge of the state&#8217;s <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>industry development and information<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Changkat Jering assemblyman Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu is named chairman of the state <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>Tourism, Human Development and Non-Governmental Organisations<\/strong><\/span> Committee while Lubok Merbau assemblyman Mohd Zainuddin Mohd Yusof is chairman of the <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>Religion, Religious Education, Women and Welfare Committee<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>No surprises when I read that the Indian assemblyman is given Human Resource as well as health and environment.
