Before election, they were bashing HINDRAF and the community, but now they claim government did not do much to help the community.<\/p>\n<p>Q: What is this la?<\/p>\n<p>A: This is politics!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Now MIC Youth plan to have toll-free line to allow direct complaints, and E-Team to \u00a0counter &#8220;allegations&#8221; by opposition on the net. They need to realise that not all netters are opposition people. First and foremost, they are Malaysians, sons of the soil. If these people can get that into their heads, things will be a bit more easier.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Vigneswaran&#8217;s statement comes following a two-day MIC brainstorming session held in Penang which ended today.<\/p>\n<p>Elaborating on the session, the Youth chief said numerous issues were discussed in depth, including those raised during the recent general election.<\/p>\n<p>In a nutshell, Vigneswaran said the dismal performance of MIC members in the polls is a result of their <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>failure to resolve sensitive issues pertaining to the Indian community<\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 &#8220;The issues involve religious rights, educational issues, government contracts, business opportunities and employment in the civil service,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>He also said the <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>government appeared to be uncommitted in resolving issues affecting the community<\/strong><\/span> and this allowed certain groups to take advantage of the situation and influence the community to turn its back on MIC and the BN government. &#8220;It seems that the <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>efforts of the BN for the past 50 years are no longer something to be proud of<\/strong><\/span>,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Silent no more<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Vigneswaran said this allowed movements like Hindraf and Makkal Sakthi to flourish and they received support from the opposition which exploited the sentiment for political mileage.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In view of this, <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">MIC Youth has decided not to keep silent any longer or blindly follow protocol<\/span><\/strong> when there is a need to voice out sensitive issues.\u00a0 &#8220;This does not mean that <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">we will ignore or not adhere to the existing directive<\/span><\/strong> as a BN component party,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Among the strategies devised during the session, Vigneswaran said it includes the immediate <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">setting up of a toll-free line<\/span><\/strong> for the community, especially the youngsters, to channel their grouses in a more effective manner.\u00a0 MIC Youth will also <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>form a \u2018task force&#8217; to receive complaints directly<\/strong><\/span> without delegating it to other quarters.<\/p>\n<p>Another move will be the<span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong> immediate creation of an electronic media team called \u2018E-Team&#8217;<\/strong><\/span> to counter the <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>allegations raised by the opposition<\/strong><\/span> in cyberspace.<\/p>\n<p>Vigneswaran also said that MIC Youth will look into education issues as well in an aggressive manner.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>source: <a href=\"http:\/\/malaysiakini.com\/news\/81893\">http:\/\/malaysiakini.com\/news\/81893<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hmm&#8230;may can hear them meow now \ud83d\ude00 Anyway, all this is coffee shop talk only.
