The dictatorship in MIC must stop immediately; otherwise the party is doomed to meet its end soon.\u00a0 The party’s Klang division chief Alex Thiagarasan made this strong call saying enough was enough and that it was time for Indians to regain control of the party and bring back its glory days.<\/p>\n
“It used to be a party many Indians were proud of but now many seem like they are ashamed to even associate themselves with the party<\/span><\/strong>.”<\/p>\n He said this was the sad state of affairs in the party and blamed it all on party president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu<\/span><\/strong>, who had been helming the party for almost 30 years. He added that the party had degenerated into a one-man show<\/span><\/strong>. Thiagarasan, who contested for a vice-president in the party’s last elections, said Samy was always talking about unity and cooperation but people who slogged for the party were almost always forgotten.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu will announce major changes to the party’s structure with a new tagline – the New Generation Party today<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 In a press statement, Samy Vellu said MIC would hold road shows throughout the country as part of the party’s re-branding exercise. “We aim to create new values, systems and working orders for the members.
