His <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/thestar.com.my\/news\/story.asp?file=\/2008\/7\/30\/nation\/20080730161114&amp;sec=nation\">statement<\/a> on suggestion that hudud  and gisas laws to be used by a merged UMNO &#8211; PAS. As reported in Malaysiakini, MCA <a href=\"http:\/\/malaysiakini.com\/news\/87020\">was the first one<\/a> off the blocks to oppose this suggestion. This was stated by its Youth secretary-general, Wee Ka Siong. <font color=\"#993300\"><strong><\/strong><\/font>The deputy education minister has described Nik Aziz\u2019s idea as &#8220;totally unacceptable by MCA&#8221;.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I am disappointed and gravely concerned with Nik Aziz&#8217;s statement to implement hudud and qisas laws as it would mean the creation of a theocratic Islamic state.<\/p>\n<p>I urge Umno to object against PAS&#8217; proposal as it is a matter of principle.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So far, Gerakan and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/thestar.com.my\/news\/story.asp?file=\/2008\/7\/30\/nation\/21951499&amp;sec=nation\">PRS<\/a> (Parti Rakyat Sarawak), two small parties in the coalition had come out with statements that cautions the UMNO-PAS discussions.<\/p>\n<p>Have to wait another few days for MIC, but its politicians who blog already have something to say.
