She <a href=\"http:\/\/www.malaysiakini.com\/news\/91908\">was said<\/a> to comment on the police website that \u201cthe police have abused their power\u201d in their handling of the Kampung Plentong fracas.<\/p>\n<p>SUHAKAM&#8217;s commissioner, Khalid Ibrahim said: \u201cBut I do not see anything seditious in it because she just said that they were abusing their power. She did not (add) any religious or racial sentiments, as far as I understand.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The activist, Cheng, also revealed that she has been told to appear at \u2018the Magistrate\u2019s Court\u2019 on Nov 1 (which falls on a Saturday), without the location being specified.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBesides, Magistrate\u2019s Courts do no not operate on Saturdays. So far, I have not received any warrant from them. This clearly shows that they have acted in bad faith over this,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>A programmer, she was arrested on Oct 17 and<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.malaysiakini.com\/news\/91512\" target=\"_blank\">released<\/a> <\/strong>after 19 hours. She was detained under Section 28 of the ISA which covers dissemination of false information.<\/p>\n<p>However, the clause does not empower the police to detain a suspect without trial.
