PPP Youth chief Senator T. Murugiah’s aggressiveness in overseeing the Public Complaints Bureau has landed him in the soup with his own party.<\/p>\n

Party president Datuk M. Kayveas has written to Seputeh MP Teresa Kok to enquire if she had made an official complaint to the bureau concerning the poor quality of food served to her during police detention.<\/p>\n

Kayveas wanted to know if Teresa had personally approached Muru\u00adgiah, the Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Depertment, to handle her case.<\/p>\n

Your feedback is important to the party as to whether he responsibly discharged his duties as a deputy minister,\u009d wrote Kayveas in a letter dated Sept 29.<\/p>\n

Kayveas, when asked, said he had been questioned by someone (whom he did not want to identify) whether Murugiah went to Teresa’s office on his own initiative.<\/p>\n

I am being asked why a BN official went to an opposition party member’s office to see Teresa and I have to reply.\u009d<\/p>\n

When contacted, Kok said she was not going to reply to the letter because she did not want to get involved in PPP’s internal politics.<\/p>\n

I have ignored the letter and I really do not know what is the purpose of the letter.<\/p>\n

As far as I am concerned, Murugiah had genuinely executed his duties as a deputy minister and there should be no reason for the letter to be written to me, she told The Star<\/em>.<\/p>\n

On Saturday Kayveas was asked at a press conference if there was any problem with Murugiah’s public service, to which he answered no.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, PPP supreme council member Dr N.A. Shanmuganathan said Murugiah was doing excellent public service attending to problems faced by the public.<\/p>\n
