We have achieved about 200,000 now. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;Every branch member has been asked to look for new voters,&quot; he said after chairing the party central working committee meeting here yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Samy Vellu also said he would meet all the party&#8217;s MPs and state assemblymen to prepare for the general election. <br \/> &quot;I want to discuss with them the needs of the people in their areas and how we can go about promoting ourselves with new vigour to win the election.&quot; <\/p>\n<p>On the list of candidates, Samy Vellu said this would be decided after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announces the date of the election. <\/p>\n<p>However, he said, he was happy with the present MIC candidates. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;They show an interest in working and in assisting the rakyat.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Samy Vellu said such a positive sign would get them closer to the voters.  <\/p>\n<p>&quot;They are doing their job well.
