This is a <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/thestar.com.my\/news\/story.asp?file=\/2010\/5\/3\/nation\/6178185&amp;sec=nation\" target=\"_blank\">suggestion<\/a><\/strong> which I think will again fall on deaf ears.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also, this is a good effort by MIC Youth. Hopefully the cemetery cleaning event would be an annual event as their plan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<blockquote style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">MIC Youth has asked the Government for financial grants to help maintain Indian cemeteries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Malaysia Nanban<\/em> quoted Youth chief T. Mohan as saying that temple committees and non-governmental organisations were facing a shortage of funds for the upkeep of the cemeteries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mohan, who took part in a clean-up campaign at the Puchong Indian cemetery on Labour Day, said all the state Youth sub-committees had also organised a similar exercise in 24 Indian cemeteries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The MIC Youth would undertake the cleaning up of the cemeteries in all states on every Labour Day, he added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Government, he claimed, had previously announced that it would allocate RM300,000 for the maintenance of the cemeteries but no funds had been disbursed to date.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While its common to hear about Indians, especially Hindus cremating their dead, some still opt for burial. \u00a0We don&#8217;t only have problem with maintenance, but even with proper\u00a0crematorium\u00a0and areas to perform last rites.
