Kandasamy, 58, who can make 1,800 <i>agal villakus <\/i>from 8am to 6pm daily, explained that <i>agal<\/i> means within one&#8217;s hand while <i>villaku <\/i>means light.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table align=\"center\" border=\"0\" cellpadding=\"7\" width=\"194\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thestar.com.my\/archives\/2007\/11\/2\/central\/m_50baked.jpg\" \/> \t\t \t<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<div>Finishing touches: A worker preparing to pack the lamps.<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p> &#8220;All Hindu homes must have the <i>agal villaku <\/i>as it is sacred and auspicious. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\n &#8220;Prayers are offered with it as the baked earthen lamps remind us to be humble,&#8221; he explained.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p> Other than lighting the lamps, buying jewelery and new clothes is a must, even something simple would do, as such a practice welcomes the goddess Lakshimi for prosperity.&nbsp; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Clay lamps a must for the season source Photos by K.K.
