\nThanenthiran insisted today that he was still the party\u2019s rightful president, refusing to recognise Makkal Sakti\u2019s AGM today which saw Kannan elected unopposed as the new party president.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs far as the party is concerned, and as far as I am concerned, I am still Makkal Sakti president. I was legally elected while Kannan is a sacked member, I had sacked him so he is not even a member, how can he be president?\u201d said Thanenthiran.<\/p>\n
He accused Kannan of being a \u201cpower-hungry liar\u201d, saying that today\u2019s AGM showed Kannan\u2019s true motives.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe is showing that he is hungry for power, having an unlawful AGM to elect him as president\u2026 the people who are there are not even party members, they have not even paid their subscription fees.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy party members know who the real president is, I have informed them and they know that today\u2019s AGM is illegal,\u201d Thanenthiran told\u00a0The Malaysian Insider.<\/em><\/p>\nHe said he would go ahead and conduct Makkal Sakti\u2019s \u201creal AGM\u201d on October 10.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will go ahead and conduct my AGM, the proper lawful AGM. My members, those who have paid the subscription fees will attend the proper AGM and elect its members in a way that is recognised legitimately.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe has gone ahead and had his little AGM, the joker, no one will recognise it,\u201d said the embattled \u201cformer\u201d president.<\/p>\n
…Ironically Thanenthiran alleged that Kannan\u2019s response earlier this afternoon was a blatant lie, and that Thanenthiran had himself met Tengku Adnan last night at the same function.<\/p>\n
