Received this from a friend about two weeks back, but was shelved due to the temple issues (here<\/a>,here<\/a> and here<\/a>). <\/p>\n

I trawled through MAS website and managed to find their Communications Division email and forwarded this to them as well.<\/p>\n

I logged into a few airline’s websites today looking for the price of air tickets to Europe. To name a few, Qantas, BA, Emirates SIA and of coz MAS to make fare comparisons. <\/p>\n

Before I go on, I would like to tell you checking flight rates and availability on all the other websites has been a breeze except for MAS.<\/p>\n

Let me share with you what I have experienced:<\/p>\n

If the date is unavailable for the destination you choose, it immediately gives you a default message mentioning the obvious: “sorry the flight on the date either unavailable”. Mind you this is not always the case. There are times you don’t get any message. You are re-routed to the same selection page.<\/p>\n

This resets the Date column back to present date. I believe this is a glitch in the website. This forces you to re-select the “To\/from” cities and “Dep\/arr” dates all over again (I think you can picture how troublesome this is). So once you re-select your choices, try to find the next available date by trial and error hoping you will strike. It’s like looking for a needle in a haystack! Imagine doing this on the year end period \u00e2\u20ac\u201c chances of finding an available ticket is soooo low.<\/p>\n

In other airlines, for eg Qantas, they would give you option of the nearest available date so you could consider other option.<\/p>\n

After trying for about 15 times, I am told my session time is out that I have to “re-login”. Lol! After this no matter how many times you login you still keep getting
\nkicked to Session time out page.<\/p>\n

Looks like MAS doesn’t want you to consider other options, and if you want they expect you to re-do and keep trying till you strike a date that is available.<\/p>\n

Btw, just for your info, MAS apparently doesn’t deal with travel agents. A few agents I have approached told me that MAS only allows direct booking as they have not been licensed to sell the tickets! I’m not sure if this is for all agents however.<\/p>\n

Now can someone explain to me why a company who is doing so badly would make it as difficult as possible for customers to buy their tickets!<\/p>\n

Never mind, I still wanted to give it a try thru phone booking. But alas! I was kept on hold till I gave up!<\/p>\n

No wonder MAS is in deep ****. Perhaps someone working for MAS can forward my feedback to Mr Idris Jala. It’s about time he stops looking at his pretty paintings in his office and start concentrating on e-ticketing business!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
