Service charge Rm6???? What the hell is that?
Menteri Besar Khalil says (The Star):
“If the usage is less than 20 cu m or RM11.40, he (the consumer) does not have to pay the water charges but he has to pay a RM6 service charge,
I never seen such charge before in my bill. Is this pulling wool over our eyes? Why announce free, when its actually not so. Free means no need to pay. Are they too stupid to understand this simple thing? Don’t be like those jokers who made the “free schooling” statement la.
Pakatan should be transparent announce how much they will subside monthly. Why Syabas need to collect RM6 when KDEB is supposed to pay on behalf of the rakyat.
We can use free water up to RM11.40, but need to pay RM6. Meaning, we actually can benefit RM5.40 only. So, should I collect this amount of water and sell it for a discounted price of RM4 or RM5?
Free water up to RM11.40 ?
Erm.. even my rumah bujang water bill is up to RM 40-60 sometimes even RM 60!..
20 CUBIC water is nothing ler..
I wonder why no one labelled Mr.Khalid Ibrahim AS LIAR. *wink*
Well, whatever it is, Rakyat bukan bodoh. MIC Or PKR or SAPP, they cant get very far with “eyes washing” oni 🙂
Novinthen , better check your water meter lah …. no way a bujang house consume upto rm60 . Never seen one but heard from a fren that a ‘loose’ water meter could stretch our bill…… 🙂
Well, my rumah bujan got 6 ppl. and we bath long hours. hehe :p .. water heater 😉 so duduk lama inside there
This is a big joke !
But again this is symphiotic of Tan Sri Khalid’s administration of the state. I wonder if he can’t even fullfil such a simple promise and make so many u-turns, how he going to deliver the much tougher promises he made ?
I guess he will never deliver as he is just plain incompetant as seen so far from this episode as well as the handling of BMC issue.
BTW I wonder what had happene to the investigation of corruption on his senior staff. I remember Khalid saying the ACA had concluded there was no case. But I am puzzled as ACA never did clear the official. This makes me wonder if Khalid is really telling the truth…
People of Selangor, now it is the payback time for voting in this clown.
hmm…my bill seldom cross rm10! always not at home, i guess 🙂
hehehe…give him a few days to explain. if not, another liar will be announced.
Khalid began his career as a university lecturer. Later, he entered the corporate world and held the position of CEO from 1979 to 1994 in the government-controlled fund management firm Pemodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB).
Oh Lama duduk dengan mahathir ni.. Old habits die hard 🙂
You guys heard about the story that he is one of the guys who caused Bank Islam to lose hundreds of millions ? Heard he borrowed money but did not pay back and now he is being sued by the new management.
According to the political circles, he could be the first MB in Malaysia to be declared bankrupt…
I don’t care if he is declared as a bankrupt, but I am worried he will make Selangor into one.
OMG, u make me worried killer coz i am staying in Selangor 🙁
well killer,
the rakyat will give some chance for the new government to settle down and show its capability. But i doubt they will give 5 years. My guess is if nothing much happens in next 3-6 months, Pakatan can kiss Selangor goodbye. The makkal are no more ignorant now. If they can put Pakatan in power, they also able to remove Pakatan from power.
As i said, it depends on how long more the people can tolerate. they tolerated BN for 50 years, but i think Pakatan have one year at most. After that, it will be protests in streets (very well organised and funded since BN will be sponsoring). Pakatan would have no option but to resign or call for state election, after pressure from Sultan.
Poobalan
You stay in Klang right ? As such you obviously would be monitoring the situation with interest…ha ha ha ha..
Well, let me share some “inside” scoop on the political situation in Selangor. I am sure you can verify this if you have some senior PR leaders as friends Also I think just like in the case of Penang as I had predicted, sooner or later this will come to public knowledge.
Unlike in Penang, the govt of Selangor is rather fragile. The biggest enemy of Khalid is not BN but DAP. The DAP people are rather very unhappy that PKR managed to get the MB position and that they were not even given the Deputy MB position. Though Lim Kit Siang, Anwar and Hadi managed to strike a compromise at the national level on the allocation of exco and other key posts, the unhappiness of the ADUNs remained. This was made worse my the holding of most of key portfolios by PKR’ Khalid and PAS’ Dr Hassan Ali.
On the other hand, there is also two camps in DAP and there is much disunity among them. There is also some anger among DAP members on the influence and position of Teresa Kok who was accused of having a lot of positions and power, thus enjoying a very lucrative income. The other DAP members were given portfolios with little power and prestige.
As such, the exco unable to function properly as Khalid didn’t have the full support and the others seem to be driven by different agendas. Khalid himself was accused of having his own agenda that has nothing to do with the benefit of people such as the water asset takeover and as practicing nepotism. The exco has become dysfunctional due to all these disagreement and politics.
Outside of exco some of the DAP MPs are openly defying him and working against him. They claim that khalid is neglecting the Chinese and only supporting the Malays from PKR. These DAP people working to undermine his leadership and this can be seen if you read some of the news reports. BMC case was one clear example.
I would suggest that to read the news reports pertaining Selangor carefully where the signs of exco disunity and the problems between the MB and DAP can be found.
Some knowledgeable people are betting how long he can last as MB before resigning or forced to do so.
Personally I don’t think BN will resort to demo or other means to oust him, they will leave it to the PR components to do that. I don’t think PR will ever call for a state election unless the ADUNs defect or ordered by the Sultan. But knowing Anwar, he will even defy Sultan in order to maintain power.
yup, monitoring with interest.
i have heard about some DAP leaders giving problems as you mentioned. even today’s paper mentioned one of the assemblyman complaining that the list of councillors consist of people from same party.
and khalil ibrahim did say the “women” give some problem. wonder which women he meant.
however, i still believe that they should be given some chance. some of the leaders may think that they can hoodwink the people, just like their previous leaders. but they are in for a big surprise. loyalty is not valued nowadays. sooner or later, anyone can turn whistleblower.
the state government have come out with some populist decisions (cash for students, cash for poor family, etc) , but the bigger picture can only be seen after some time. will the economic growth be maintained or improved? will the number of tourists increase? can transportation problems be solved? unemployment reduced? if the state govt can steer the state through economic downturn and political unstability, it will be good enough.
I agree that the PR govt in Selangor should be given time to perform. Despite my anti-PR sentiments, I think it is only fair that they should be allowed to serve the 5 year mandate on the basic of their mandate from the GE.
However, as we shall see in the coming months, the cracks in PR in Selangor would be more and more visible. I am doubtful that this govt can even survive the 5 years.
Some political analysts feel that Anwar is pushing for SAPP’s no confidence motion not so much to attack BN but as a defensive move so that PR coalition do not collapse due to internal conflicts.
You might have noted that PAS wasn’t very happy with SAPP’s move and might wonder why. Well, what i heard is that while PR is trying to lure BN MPs, the BN itself is trying to lure PAS from PR…..
Also, there are some interesting developments going on in Perak too….
All though Im Putera MIC member ,I must salute DAP for going on GOOD the first 100 days in Penang. They are going after the economy and stuff like that..Which is good for the rakyat. But PKR is more interested in doing Politics with the old state government.
apalah ini macam
Novinthen…
Not so fast….The Penang DAP govt certain is more stable and seems to have moved forward much when compared to Perak, Kedah and Selangor. But the reality is very different…I will give some insights later (I am very familiar as I have many friends and also because I spend much of my time in Penang).
I will give this clue….Lim Guan Eng is 2nd only to Anwar in terms of having people to manage his PR (ie spin doctoring). He has surrounded himself with so many ex-media people and has influence even over mainstream media reporters…
Will talk about it later.
it always wise to know both ups/downs of both ruling/oppo . But , Killer are you saying BN is perfect ??
I’ll only be surprised if PR has no downs .
well, looks like you guys spend more time in the bath than any other place 🙂 Not to mention that you have about two or three baths only for most houses. for each person to rake up RM10 takes quite an effort.
I think its time to think about doing your part on conserving water. Imagine, you have no family – meaning less clothes to be washed. Do you wash your cars/bikes using house water? do you have a garden and water the plants everyday? Do you wash the porch frequently? Drink a lot of water? Change aquarium water weekly?
If none of the above, then most likely its a faulty pipe somewhere and you guys are paying unnecessarily.
Wah penang also same ah?
Well, let us all wait see…
Guys…
I was just talking about the issues between DAP and PKR in Selangor…here is something interesting….not from third party but straight from DAP’s website….Things are brewing and it is a matter of time it going to blow up.
Word is even PAS in upset with PKR and not to mention issues within PKR itself.

Media Statement by Lau Weng San in Petaling Jaya on Friday, 20th June 2008:
A mockery for PR if partisan nominees appointed as councilors under NGO quota
It has been negotiated that there will be an average of 6 non-partisan councillors in each local council in Selangor excluding Orang Besar Kaya Besar Daerah (OKBD). In Selangor, there are altogether nine OKBDs in each local councils except for Petaling Jaya City Hall (MBPJ), Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) and Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ).
In Petaling Jaya City Hall, there will be a total of 24 new councilors of which four of them are from PAS, seven from PKR and six from DAP, with the remaining seven councilorship to be appointed from non-partisan nominees, i.e. NGOs and RAs in Petaling Jaya.
The Star Metro has published a list of councilors for MBPJ today and I was requested to comment on it. For a city with various active NGOs in town, political parties should not hijack councillorship reserved for NGOs and RAs in MBPJ.
Sad to say, from the list of unconfirmed names reported in the Star Metro today, I can notice that there are efforts by certain party to insert party members as councilors in MBPJ under NGO quota as there are only six NGO and RA councilors in the list, namely Richard Yeoh (TI), Anthony Thanasayagan (Coordinator of Malaysians Against Discrimination of the Disabled), Dr Melasutra bt Md Dali (Town Planner), Cynthia Manonmani a/p Michael Gabriel (Suaram), Derek Fernandez (prominent lawyer on local governance) and Paneer Sivam (labourer activitist) with no representatives from residents association.
It is my stand that the seven non-partisan nominees should be purely reserved for non-partisan nominees, i.e. NGOs and RAs in Petaling Jaya. Else it will be a mockery for Pakatan Rakyat.
