Subscribe in a reader | Subscribe by Email The report in Nanban, carried by the Star says the Penang Municipal Council retracted the land it once allocated to the SJKT Azad Tamil school in Bagan Jermal, Penang. This retraction was done after the general elections, while the allocation date was not mentioned. We can safely assume that it was before elections.
Here’s the flow of events:
The school, which began operating in 1946, is presently “squatting” at the Penang Indian Association building and had submitted numerous applications to the state government for allocation of land so that new premises with proper facilities could be built. The school does not have enough classrooms. There is also no computer laboratory, science laboratory and library.
Previous government under chief minister Tan Sri Koh Tsu Koon and former state executive councillor P.K. Subbaiyah had approved the land near a Hindu temple in the Waterfall area that was identified by the school parent-teacher association in 2005.
The Penang Municipal Council, which owns the land, had also approved the allocation for the school.
MIC president and former Works minister Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu had also obtained the necessary funds amounting to RM750,000 from the Federal Government to build the new school.
The Penang Municipal Council cancelled the land allocated to the school after the recent general election.
So, what happened?
Perhaps VJ, Arya or Shri have some excuse for this action by the DAP govt ?
You my take on this ? I guess some big taukey from DAP has “bought” the land for “development” purposes…..

THE LAND AND FUND WAS FOUGHT BY MIC BEFORE THE GE. SO THEY HAVE RESPONSIBLE TOO. WHAT THEY GOING TO ABOUT IT? WORK SOMETHING ON OR GOING TO SAY ITS NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS?

You have my sympathies but knowing these bunch of crooks long, action such as boycott of election will not hurt Anwar or PR. In fact as I had said before the GE, a mere change in Indian voting pattern will have no impact in most areas.

Isnt it true that he is mosquito in the DAP state govt that even a junior DAP do not respect ? Isnt it true that all major decisions regarding his portfolios actually decided by LGE and other senior DAP leaders ? And for other minor decisions he had to get LGE’s permission like a school boy ? All Rama does is to attend functions to show that the DAP govt is multiracial. LGE certainly learned well from Singapore in using Indians like the zoo tiger, domesticated, caged and without teeth. Just for show only.
For all his talk about helping Indians, he has done nothing except of course in helping DAP to close Tamil schools. Tiger Rama has become a pussy CAT under LGE.

Well, Malaysian Indians have to change from the MIC mentality. In MIC you can aspect Indian to help you but in DAP you no need to go to an Indian to solve your problem but u also can go to a chinese or Malay. This is all about sharing power and ruling collectively. This is the future for Malaysian Indians survival. I personaly think Indians should change their mind set and please come out from the coconed racesist mind. The problem in Penang is that everbody wants to in power but lack of qualification. What you had said is tantamount to admitting that DAP and yourself are Ettapans of the community.
If you had such policies then why all the drama of supporting Indians’ causes and HINDRAF before the GE and then after getting the votes now claim to be luti-racial ? I remember attending DAP ceramah in Butterworth when the DAP senior leaders came and spoke so much in support of Indians and HINDRAF. In fact most of DAP ceramahs had HINDRAF people joining in and speaking as well as handing out publicity materials like T-shirts and CDs.
I still remember the pro-HINDRAF ceramah at the Chinese Hall attended by LKS, Karpal, LGE adnd others. But after GE, abuk pun tarak.
Don’t claim if you have a problem you can go to a Chinese or Malay. You know very well the situation in Penang when the Chinese are so ethno-centric that there is hardly a chance given to Indians and Malays. The situation is so bad that the Chinese seems to think that with DAP in power the state belongs to the Chinese. No one bothers about Indians. The Malays are also losing out with the govt contracts now all going to DAP-linked towkays. The only Indians who are benefitting are the ADUNs and MPs who used MS name to win a seat.
I remember when the UMNO Youth protested at KOMTAR about the NEP, some DAP senior leaders said, “Tak Suka Keluar Lah dari Penang, ini tempat orang Cina”. Soon this will happen to us.
Don’t insult Indians by saying we don’t know how to read or write. There are thousands of Indians with degrees, masters and PHDs. You are just an apologist to DAP by such idiotic comments. BTW don’t you know that there are some DAP Chinese MPs and ADUNs who can’t even speak BM and English well ?

Do not try to mislead us… DAP did organise a forum in Penang on Jan 26th 2008 at the Penang Chinese Town Hall. You can google if you wish and there are still numerous accounts on who attended and what they spoke about in the net.

Thats why you either have to read more or watch more assembly proceedings, BN got whacked for bringing up this issue by Prof Rama – he managed to prove that BN never approved the land in the first place, it was DAP led state govt that finally approved the land. This was agreed by Pinang Tunggal and Seberang Jaya assemblymen (UMNO Aduns) in state assembly.
So this whole thing was created by Samy without knowing the land wasnt even approved in the first place just because he listened to some idiot MIC illitrate somewhere in Penang, could it be Killer?
