Q: The Indian community has said it wants two full ministerships. Have you considered that?

Yes, I’ve considered it but it is not possible at the moment. I feel the human resources (ministry) is an important portfolio for them. And I think that it will give (the minister) a chance to address unemployment issues and provide training opportunities to people in the rubber and oil palm estates where many Indians reside. A lot of issues have risen from these areas and new villages too.

Before this, Samy Vellu was in Works ministry for more than 10 years. MIC held Labour Ministry before. Did the rural Indian community had better training and job opportunities before? No matter how the minister wants to implement ideas, he/she is bound by the policies. Did we see tenders by PWD given to more Indians since Samy was there? No right? It doesn’t work that way. Just because Health Minister is chinese, does it mean he would more business to the Chinese? This kind of notion does not seem right.

Its obivius that the PM just want to answer the press off. Dr.S.Subramaniam is even worst then fellow samy. He ( S.Subramaniam) is another “Yes man! Puppet”.

that’s right . Generally , across nationwide Indians , there’s no good perception on S.Subramaniam and M.Saravanan . Devamany so far has good rapport among people .

Let us hope that the new minister and deputy ministers will be their own men and cut their ties with the disgraced SV and team! If not they will be having a hard time with the people who they are supposed to represent!

It took about 30 yrs for the people of most parts of India to shake off Congress in India. Now they are well versed with voting for the opposition whenever it
suits them. It has taken us the Indians of Malaysia more than 50 yrs to get
there. From now on the MIC / Barisan will never be able to take the Indian votes for granted! The first step to some form of political maturity has been taken. I will not be surprised if they are happy to vote happily for a PAS government rather than vote for toothless tigers in the MIC! I am led to believe that all the so called representatives have so far lined their own pockets with whatever crumbs that fell off from the UMNO dining table rather than fighting for the rights of the poor in our community.
