Samy pledges to uplift standard of living among Indians
KUALA LUMPUR: Works Minister Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said his resolution for the New Year is to uplift the standard of living in the Indian community.
“As MIC President, I will strive to create more opportunities in education, employment, economy, business, housing, health and assistance to the Indian community through the normal system of discussions with the Government.

“This system has been successful in creating more opportunities to Indians but there is still a lot more to be done,” he said in his New Year message.
“We are aware of the dissatisfaction by certain quarters in the community but the MIC will continue to bring about changes and transformation in line with the multi racial composition in the country,” he said.
He said the MIC would also continue to give priority towards development of education among Indians.
Other leaders in the country also expressed their expectations for the New Year.
