KUALA LUMPUR, Tues:Incumbent MP for Lembah Pantai Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil is confident of winning the 11,000-odd Indian votes in her constituency should she be nominated. The Women, Family and Community Development Minister believed that she has staunch support of the Indians, just like the other communities.

“As their MP, I have done my best, served them well and delivered to their expectations. I have been there for them, whether they are rich or poor. I am convinced the Indians will return the vote for the BN,” she said in reference to talk of Indians being disgruntled with the BN, particularly the MIC.

Shahrizat said during my rounds, she did not get bad vibes.  No one has expressed discontent or shown animosity towards me. They are happy and have thanked me for attending to their requests,” she told reporters after launching a coffee-table book `Gilding the Lily’ at the Bangsar Shopping Centre in Jalan Ma’arof.

On the Opposition candidate for Lembah Pantai, Shahrizat said she was not worried whomsoever stands. “I don’t give a thought or focus on who is going to stand against me. My work for the people speaks for itself. I have not been involved in dirty politics or bad-mouthing,” she said
