SEREMBAN, Feb 27 (Bernama) — The Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Jeram Padang state constituency in Negeri Sembilan is banking on his experience of having grown up in a plantation to serve his constituents if he gets elected in the March 8 general election.

V. Mogan, 41, said he was confident of winning because most of the constituents were supporters of the BN as was reflected in the victory of Datuk L. Krishnan by a majority of 4,084 votes in the 2004 general election.

After having campaigned from house-to-house up to midnight yesterday in Batu Kepis, Taman Seri Rompin and Felcra Rompin, Mogan said he received good response from the electorate.

He said the relationship between BN leaders and the people in the constituency was good, adding that the constituents did not raise national issues such as prices of goods but focused on local issues such as the need for quality housing.

Mogan said that if elected he would bring more development to Jeram Padang and Bahau.

He has a good relationship with the BN candidate for the adjacent Bahau state seat, Lim Fui Ming.

“Development in Bahau, the biggest town in the district, will surely spill over to Jeram Padang,” he said.

Mogan is involved in a straight fight with Manoharan Kanan of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) for Jeram Padang while Lim faces Teo Kok Seong of the DAP in Bahau.
