If we total up everything, we get Rm112 million for the last 20 years and up to end of 9th Malaysian Plan (2010). We can round it up to Rm150 million for those ad-hoc expenses and allocations. So, Rm150/22 years = RM6.8million per year.

GOPENG: The Kota Bahru Estate Tamil school here may possibly be the 77th Tamil school to date to get a new lease of life, thanks to MIC’s efforts in securing a land and allocations for a new building.
MIC President Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said despite having only 39 pupils, the school was earmarked for redevelopment to a new site and with a new building that would accommodate six classrooms.
He was confident that more parents would enrol their children in the school once the new building was completed.
He said that in the last 20 years, the MIC had rebuilt 76 Tamil schools with a RM30 million grant from the government and an additional RM7 million raised by the MIC.
“The MIC is committed to the development of Tamil language and Tamil school education,” he said at the ground-breaking ceremony for the school here today.
Last week, Samy Vellu said the Cabinet had approved an additional RM20 million for the redevelopment of Tamil schools, of which a major portion would be used for another 23 Tamil schools.
Under the Ninth Malaysia Plan, RM46 million has been allocated for the rebuilding and repair of fully-aided Tamil schools, said the Works Minister.
In addition, the government has allocated RM16.2 million for the rebuilding of 18 partially-aided Tamil schools, he said.
“The projects are being undertaken by the Public Works Department and are in different stages of planning and tendering process,” he said.
