This also an interesting news. How can a cemetery be converted to agricultural land? Is the cemetery occupying private or government land? Is it illegal in nature? The residents say it is in place for 90 years, but we know that that doesn’t not matter in Bolehland. How could “irresponsible people”  take over the land?

RESIDENTS of Tupah Estate, about 10km from Bidor, Perak, held a peaceful demonstration after their cemetery was illegally converted into agricultural land, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Estate resident M. Marimuthu, 54, said the Indian community in the area had been using the cemetery for the past 90 years. He said some irresponsible people had taken control of the land and claimed ownership.

Another resident, S. Siva, 40, said the issue was repeatedly brought to the attention of the former state government, but no action was taken.  He added that the matter had now been brought to the attention of state assemblyman Dr Hamdan Talib, who has instructed his Indian representative A. Loganathan to look into the matter.
