Syed Hamid got trapped and tried his best to answer. Can feel that he himself had no confidence or belief in his own answer. Among his points are “Saiful is the prime witness”, “Saiful is the complainant, so cannot arrest the complainant” etc.
Well, that sounds right to if the crime did not involve Saiful. Unfortunately, Saiful was part of the act. Now, just imagine if a guy comes in and says he robbed a bank with few others. Would the police let the guy off just because he complained about a crime which he committed? At best, the prosecution will negotiate a deal to lessen the charges against the guy who turned himself in. So, at the very least, Saiful (if really repented) should be charged as well.

I saw that too but Syed Hamid never been the most eloquent speaker. But remember he is a lawyer and he knows what he is talking about. I am no lawyer but Saiful is what is called as material witness. The AG must be stupid to charge Saiful.
Such exemption is common even in the West. Often witness get immunity or plea bargains in return for their cooperation.
My theory is that Saiful was taken advantage of by DSAI using his position as a superior. Probably using a combination of threat, monetary incentives and positions. But when that was not forthcoming and the sexual habit continued, Saiful decided to blow the whistle. That’s why there was no sign of violence when the doctor examined Saiful.
I dont believe in conspiracies as it would take too much time and effort. But I do feel there are some hidden hand helping to push the matter.
But then DSAI himself at fault for his predictment since he was pressing AAB and najib by resorting to a vicious campaign to bring them down ( getting BN MPs to cross over, time line for capturing Fed govt, RPK’s SDs, Bala’s SDs,etc). All these I guess only made his enemies react in kind.
I know DSAI for a long time now and he is no friend of Indians.
what else to expect from Syed . As i always say , as long as you’re affliated with ruling coalition you’re always safe . The ACA check on SAPP president (after his non confident outburst) is another example .
Dont be surprised if honourable sailful become a minister or deputy in near future !
