This issue started by PPP announcement that 3000 EX-MIC members jumped ship. Each will claim they have many members. Anyway, what made me laugh was the statement by Sothi:
In the MIC, we have records of all our members and our figures have always been consistent.”

SEREMBAN, Thurs:
MIC vice-president Datuk S. Sothinathan has rubbished claims that more than 3,000 members from his Teluk Kemang division had left to join the Peoples Progressive Party. The division head said PPP president, Datuk M. Kayveas’, statement to this effect was untrue.
“I have 11,000 members in my division and my latest statistics show that none have left,” he said. “These allegations and the figures just don’t add up. Sometimes the figures given by other parties are simply ridiculous. In the MIC, we have records of all our members and our figures have always been consistent.”
Kayveas had claimed last week that about 3,000 new members had joined the party in Teluk Kemang after quitting the MIC.
On claims by Parti Keadilan Rakyat that it was confident of wresting the Port Dickson State seat held by the MIC’s Datuk T. Rajagopalu, Sothinathan said there was no cause for alarm as the people knew which party would be better able to serve them.
“I am sure the people know the real picture and will make the right decision on polling day. Keadilan is only interested in benefiting itself and I am sure the people are not stupid to be so easily duped by their false promises,” said Sothinathan, who is also the Teluk Kemang Member of Parliament.
On his chances of retaining the Teluk Kemang seat, he was confident as he had served constituents well.
