MIUP to close shop soon? Can we see any familiar pattern here? Maybe after this Nalla himself will “regret” his action and will join back PKR?

A former Klang PKR division chief who left the opposition party to help set up an Indian-based, BN supporting party has now returned to his former party. P Krishnasamy, who was influenced by de facto PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim’s former tennis partner KS Nallakaruppan to set up the Malaysian Indian United Party (MIUP), regretted leaving the party now.
“I was unhappy with the comments Nallakaruppan made against Anwar during the elections and I believe I made a big mistake by joining him and I did not like the Barisan Nasional culture,” he said.
Nallakaruppan had joined PKR in 2006 and was the party’s Kepong division head before falling out with Anwar over Indian representation issues. The businessperson then started MIUP after a slew of criticisms against Anwar. During that period, he claimed there were 25,000 members in his party.
He later announced his party’s support for BN and later lashed out at the former deputy prime minister, stating that he only cares for himself and not the Indian community.
Krishnasamy said he had met Anwar on Sunday at his residence in Bukit Segambut and was urged to rejoin the party as a permanent member. “I was humbled by (Anwar’s) words and I thank the party from the bottom of my heart,” he said before adding there are others who were leaving MIUP for PKR.
Nalla bulldozed his way
Krishnasamy was the one behind the setting up of the Klang PKR division and was its chief for the past nine years. He was also the party’s deputy Selangor chief before his defection to MIUP.
However, he left in May last year after Nallakaruppan sought his assistance for form a party for the Indian community. “I thought this would benefit the Indians as I would rather join the opposition than the BN. When he said MIUP was joining BN, I could not take it. “But I was patient and waited to see what will happen next. I felt very sad when Nalla attacked Anwar. We told him to stop but he did not listen to any of us. He just bulldozed his way,” he related.
Dummy leader
Another MIUP leader, G Kannan, the party’s Negeri Sembilan chief, also joined Krishnasamy in rejoining PKR. “He’s not a good politician, only a good businessman. That is all that I want to comment,” he said to cheers from 20 supporters present. Also quitting MIUP was its Federal Territories chief B Rajan (photo), who was previously active in the Gombak division in PKR befor leaving the party. “I really regretted leaving PKR after listening to Nalla. He came out of PKR over certain issues. “Even though I was given a very good post in MIUP but I can’t be sitting there as a dummy,” he said.
All three proceeded to submit their membership forms to PKR vice president and newly-elected Subang parliamentarian R Sivarasa and Port Dickson assemblyperson M Ravi.
Many questioned Nalla’s motive in MIUP . Now we are hearing , as what we predicted , from those close to him . It’s matter of time MIUP will loose it’s base and become irrelavent.
