Hard work and little sleep pays off

JOHOR BARU: For M. Kamaladevi, her sacrifice and hard work, including waking up at 5am to catch a bus to school from her home in Taman Puteri Wangsa here, paid off as she obtained 13As and two Bs in the recent SPM.
The 18-year-old Sultan Ibrahim Girl’s School student, who aspires to be a doctor, said she often sacrificed her sleep to study and complete schoolwork.
“I often studied until 4am and slept for 40 minutes before waking up and going to school.
“I didn’t mind the challenges as I knew it was for my own good,” she said.
Kamaladevi said her success would not have been possible without the support of her parents, teachers and schoolmates. “My parents often gave me space to study and did not pressure me. “I honoured their trust by giving my best,” she said.
Her mother S. Sugana, 44, was proud of her daughter’s achievement. “She deserves this result as she worked very hard for it. “Her result is a good example for her two younger siblings,” she said.
Congratulations to Kamala Devi and to her parents! And Best Wishes to Kamala.
