He was conferred the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) by Sultan Ahmad Shah Sultan Abu Bakar at Istana Abu Bakar here yesterday.

David, 59, whose real name is Thiagarajan K.R. Arumugam, dedicated the award to his fans.
“If not for them, I would not be here receiving the award.”
He was confident his fans everywhere in the country would remember his unique style of saying “terima kasih” (thank you) to them.
He has 40 years’ involvement in the music industry, as entertainer, as a singer, and member of a pop group (Alleycats).

THE YOUNG INDIAN DILEMMA
At last we have an Indian musician recognized for his contribution at the age of 59years. Very timely i suppose since it was not given when he is bed ridden due to advance old age.
The Indians were never recognized just like in Sri Lanka. Well it was okay for the builders generation- the humble rubber tappers, the early baby bomers BUT as for Generation X, Y and later Z they will not accept double standards easily.
Much has been said about improving young Indians but nothing concrete happened. The Chinese say that the fish rots from the head first. This means our leadership was all screwed-up. For 30 over years in the cover of MIC what actually happened was high level corruption and discrimination by MIC politicians.Indian intellects were sidelined , thugs and thieves were selected to important positions that will decide the course of direction for the Indians future.
In place of core competency we had raw thuggery and massive swindling of wealth meant for every Indians. All we can do is talk and talk OR we become CHANGE AGENT. The time is ripe for Malaysians Indians to be UNITED under one strong, effective and efficient association lead by young leaders who live the principles of Swami Vivekananda – UNITED MALAYSIAN INDIANS NATIONAL ORGANIZATION , or simply called UNITED. We don’t need MIC, IPF, MUIP, or any Kandasamy or Vellaiappan tea-party .
Swami said ” They who live who live for others. The others are more than dead”. This means most of our current Indian politicians don’t exist anymore because THEY DID NOTHING FOR THE INDIANS.
Let the ICT technology change our lives in this SWARNABHUMI once and for all. From slavery let us drive towards Leadership using a super expressway
called UNITY. Let us set aside our Devar , Kaunder, Kallar, Telugu, Malayalee, Punjabi and a another dozens of other segmentations . Let us UNITED as Malaysians Indians. If I am not mistakes Kaviarasu Kannadasan wrote a song ” Oru Thai Makkal Nam Ennbum. Ondre Enggal Kulam Ennbum”
