Anyone keeping track of the election expenses and promises? With all the announcements and gifts and promises (veiled threat – if you want stability or your welfare looked after…you know who to vote), it will be very very hard for the people to keep focused on the things that DID NOT happen or happened WRONGLY.
In a months’ time, can anyone remember Subashini, temple demolition, kursus during Deepavali, insult on newspaper vendors and Deepavali, people in Belum forest who don’t know PM name, tamil schools in store room or shop lots, Anthony Rayappan, Revathi Masosay, Everest climber moorthy, Mazu temple, teacher saying “agama syaitan”, jamaluddin jarjis’s insult, oh….my….the list will go on and on…I’m tired already!
Government to restore St George’s Church

PENANG: The 191-year-old St George’s Church in Farquhar Street, which has been a significant landmark in George Town for more than a century, is set to undergo a major facelift.
Culture, Arts and Heritage deputy minister Datuk Wong Kam Hoong said the ministry had set aside RM500,000 for the restoration of the heritage church, which was expected to be completed within this year.
He added that the allocation would include rectifying the wear and tear of the main church building and upgrading the sewerage system.
“I have asked officers from the National Heritage Department to begin studies on the church’s conservation.
“The ministry will then call for a tender on the restoration project once the study is completed,” he told reporters Thursday after handing over a heritage plaque to vicar Joel Leow.
Among the conservation works needed were the re-plastering of the walls, restoration of the old wooden doors and window frames, tower and steel spire.
