Social Recovery Foundation? When was this established? A search in the Internet shows this term only existed since 1st February 2007. Nothing found before that.
Yet again, SV agrees with HINDRAF – “many in the group had difficulties servicing their loans” and “the number of Indians facing such a predicament was also rising”.
BTW, didn’t PM just announced that there are less poor people in 2007? Yet, SV says the number of indians facing the problem is increasing? So, who is lying now?

KUALA LUMPUR, FRI:
The Housing and Local Government Ministry should review existing housing loan schemes for the lower income group, said Works Minister Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu. I will meet with its minister Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting (after i get re-elected…hehehehe..) soon to discuss the matter to help housebuyers in this group, especially in urban areas, get affordable housing loans,” he told reporters after presenting keys to residents of the Permai low-cost apartments in Sungai Besi here today.
A total of 239 squatter families from around Kg Tai Yew, Kg Baru Salak Selatan, Sekolah Tai Thung, Kg Melayu Muhibbah, Batu 4 Jalan Sungai Besi and the Turf Club in the Sungei Besi area, who had to vacate their homes to make way for the construction of a highway, received their keys to the apartments.
Samy Vellu, who is also MIC president, said the review was necessary because many in the group had difficulties servicing their loans and often came to him for help.”Through the MIC’s Social Recovery Foundation, we help them pay up to five months of loan installments so that their houses are not auctioned off,” he said, adding that the number of Indians facing such a predicament was also rising.
