BATU CAVES: S. Logeswari’s day starts at 7.30am when she accompanies her husband T. Mohan as they leave their Puchong home to campaign in Batu Caves.

Their day only ends after midnight.  Logeswari’s punishing schedule is even more amazing as she is seven months pregnant with her second child.

“I am taking care of my health by eating supplements. I would rather be with my husband than sitting at home,” said the 29-year-old who used to be a reporter with RTM 2’s Tamil section.

Her mother and mother-in-law look after their 19-month old toddler, M. Thivyan while Logeswari is out campaigning with Mohan, the Barisan Nasional candidate for the Batu Caves state seat.

He will face PKR’s Amirudin Shari and an independent Azmi Hussain.

Logeswari also accompanies Mohan on his door-to-door campaign and has walked up five flights of stairs to be by his side as he introduces himself to voters in the constituency.  “Sometimes the voters would pity me because of my condition and asked me to take care of myself,” she said.

Logeswari also campaigns on Mohan’s behalf and has given ceramah in Bahasa Malaysia.  Mohan said that his wife’s support and backing have been crucial.
