He’s the one with the peace sign (standing).

This is the third death of a friend. It is really a sad day. Condolences to the family. He was missing for more than a month in the Topavan area, about 25 km from Gangotri, a popular spiritual site in Uttarkashi, in the northern state of Uttranchal. He was there for a spiritual visit.

Vicky (aka Snake) or Vicknesvaren Murugesu was a good guy. Spiritually inclined (always visiting ashramams and involved in religious activities) and a good student. He did his mechanical engineering degree in Purdue University and continued working in the USA. I last met him few years back when we kind of had an impromptu reunion.

Vicky is squatting in the middle (again with the peace sign!)

Vicky was a fun guy to have around during school days. His facial expressions and antics with other classmates like Thoon Yew, Feroze, Edwin, Chee Siong, always made the class filled with ruckus.

We had some good times together. Thank you for the memories buddy. Wishing you a safe journey into next life and may God bless your soul.

Note: Call it coincidence or whatever, but all three were single and their names started with alphabet “V”.

I will have to agree with Poobalan here. Vicky was genuinely a nice guy who was indeed pious but was always up to having fun with the guys. Not only did we go to La Salle together, but also to UNITEN and Purdue. He was one year my junior then..

    RIP Vicknesvaren Murugesu!!

I stumbled upon this site from a friend, and I’ve known vicky anne since childhood. We literally grew up together, went for prayers together, sang bhajans together. I even remember a real fun sadhana camp with him and also the other person who responded here, vicky. I’m still finding it difficult to come to terms with his transition. He’s been running at the back of my mind for the past few days. His soul will surely rest in peace.

    Tribute to my beloved brother…
    Vicknesvaren Murugesu

The hardest part of any relationship is when it’s time to say goodbye. As much as we might like things to stay the same, change is an inevitable part of life.
Words are not enough to describe the sadness in losing a dear brother like Vicknesvaren Murugesu….Everyone said he had a yogic death….such a profound soul he is no doubt….
His funeral was held at rishikesh…very nice site choosen by a swami from sivananda ashram and he himself chose bilvam logs specially for vicky anna and did his funeral rites.such gifted soul…they held special abhishegam for him at the ashram and 21 days of special prayers afterthat…swamis nearby who heard of the news were astonished when they heard of how he had passed…everyone said the same…”he had a yogic death”…”onli yogis go off that way”…..Tradition lauds those who perish on Mount Kailash as unique and blessed souls.
Yet the heart grieves for not having our dear brother around anymore….We deeply miss him….and will always remember him……..its like a dream that we can never wake up to…
Thank you brother…. for always carrying us under your wings as if you were our parents…. for the wonderful childhood we’ve shared together…For all the sweet memories you’ve given us to value and share…For being there for us always…. Love you brother…you will always be in our hearts…

    Dedicated to my brother…..
You’re still here in my heart and mind,
still making me laugh cause your stories live on.
I hold you in a thought and I can feel you.
I feel you and this gives me strength and courage.
The tears I have cried for you could flood the earth
and I know you have wiped each one away.

For you Brother, I promise you this,
I will go on with my life and make you proud.
I will always hold you in my heart.
I promise you I will be missing you everyday till the end of time,
I need to love and miss you,
but I also need to live because through me you will live,
you will still laugh and love,
you will still sing and dance,
you will still hug and kiss.
You will forever be in our lives,
you will forever be a brother,
    a son,
    an uncle
    and friend.
I am going to miss your shining face
I think of you and wonder why?
    I might cry or smile,
but at the end of the day I am one day closer to you….
If I only had five minutes the day you passed away,
I would have had time to tell you all the things I needed to say.

I never got to tell you how much you mean to me,
Or that you were the best brother, better than any man could be.

If I only had five minutes,
    the day you passed away,
I’d give you one last hug so tight and see your great big smile.
I’d tell you that I don’t think I could live without you,
    not even for awhile.
I’d kiss your cheek and take your hand and tell you it’s okay to go
And tell you that I’ll miss you,
    more than you’ll ever know.

Now God has called upon you,
It’s time to get your wings.
To leave this life behind you,
And enjoy all of heavens beautiful things.
So wait for us in heaven Brother,
    Don’t let us come alone.
The day the angels come for us..
Please be there to bring us home
Love you brother…you will always be in our hearts…
    Love sisters…Vilashiny & Puvana

I still remember the days we went for prayers and sang bhajans together. The chatting times and how we prepared the halls when Bodhinatha was visiting Malaysia. He was all over running and getting things, buying food and drinks, making sure that we were all alright. Even that we had not met in the recent years, we knew that he is safe some where. Felt a deep pain when we had to recite prayers for him. He is a gifted soul. Yet it is so hard to accept that he is no more!

my condolence to the family on the recent bereavement. no words could bring the great soul back to this earth but for me he has merged with lord shiva at this young age. the yogic death is a clear sign that he is a great soul and certainly will be missed by all.
we have known him and his family and share the deep sorrow and can only lend our hands to guide them and come out of the traumatic times they are going through. our prayers for his soul and he will be missed forever by all who knew him.

I am so sad to hear of this. Vic was my room mate at IUPUI for over a year in the year 2000 – 2001. He was such a nice guy – always joking around. He managed to make everyone laugh even when times were bad.
