Xavier Jayakumar who visited the demolished temple met with over 300 people. He briefed them on the plans for Indian temples in Selangor. He urged all Hindu temples in Selangor to register with the relevant municipal councils within a month so that the government would have a record of all temples in the state and also ensure that no temple would be demolished in the future. He said committees fighting for ownership of land for their temples in Selangor could meet him to submit their applications.

This news appeared in Makkal Osai. Not sure if he apologies over his earlier statements on temple demolition being a small issue.

Well…Finally they are doing it.. I think they need to know how many temples we really have in Selangor and the rest of the country. Some how we hear about how there are more temples then other places of worship which i dont think is true.

I hope all the relevant people come forward and register their temples..

And bro..I havent heard about Dr Xavier’s apology yet as well

Well, from what I read in Nanban, said a different story…another spin-doctoring ??

The issue is NOT closed but PR is trying to push it under the carpet. What Xavier said according to Nanban is that the temple will be given a new location and the temple committe will be consulted on the new location. There was no mention of time line, funds or even approvals by local authorities.

So will this issue be slowly forgotten in a few weeks when other issues occupy our attention ?

I can tell that this issue is yet to be over. If you guys read the news before Raya, the state exco was divided over the suspension of the deputy chief of MPAJ. The Muslim members of exco seemed to be furious that the decision to suspend was taken by Teresa, Ronnie and Xavier. They even claimed that it was illegal. Some of the senior exco think that the deputy chief should not be punished for doing the right thing (in their opinion of course).

So I expect, this issue is far from closed. Expect more news from Ampang….

BTW, I did notice too that Xavier yet to apologise. In fact no one in Selangor PR govt apologise to the Indian community.

PAS Adun can oppose it…this is not BN only they will behave like goat and agree to everything.

PR is democratic coalition..members here are free to express their views and justify their cause.

  5. Killer says:

    farmer,

Good joke to start my day…..PR is a democratic coalition…LOL

The only reason they do it is because all the 3 parties in Selangor are of equal strength.

Why then in Kedah and Kelantan PR unable to influence PAS’ decisions ? What about Penang when the rights of minorty being trampled by the economic might ?

  6. VJ says:

you may write novel claiming PR not democtratic BUT you can never write a ‘haikku’ showing BN is democratic . You need diamond to cut diamond not blade .
