More committees? SV wants PM to chair it …wow! But isn’t that what the cabinet is supposed to do every week, covering all aspect of the country management? Wait a minute, SV mentioned “heads of BN component parties”, meaning must include him as well. Cabinet doesn’t include him….StillĀ  wants to be in the limelight…or doesn’t have faith in his minister and 2 deputies?

Meanwhile, Samy Vellu also urged the government to expedite assistance to the bottom 30 percent in the Indian community who are still living in poverty and under-employed.

“I wish to suggest the formation of a committee headed by the prime minister and deputy prime minister and its members consisting of all the heads of BN component parties to discuss and chart out the development programmes that will have to be implemented immediately.

“The time has come for us to build a truly united Malaysian nation. If we fail to do this, it would mean we are encouraging our supporters to go along with the opposition.

“We need to attend to the problems of the people with a clear and unbiased mind,” he added.

Whatever our thoughts may be about SV I feel we have to admit that he does work hard. He works very hard to take care of his own interests! The MIC has one (lame duck) cabinet minister and 2 chota ministers in the ministry but SV still has to pretend to wield his influence in the Government (in which to quote him he said he was begging to get things done when he was a Senior Cabinet Minister). He wants to by-pass the elected MIC representatives in the Barisan Government so that they do not become too popular with the masses in their own right!

It is time the Parliamentary MIC leader(s) put SV in his place and then show him the door if they want to show that they are their own men! SV does not seem to know to way to the door to a (un)graceful exit!

If Pak Lah falls for this ploy and form these “committees ” it will be indeed a big slap for the people who threw SV out of Sungei Siput and the Indians in general.

The other thing that the Barisan Government could do to provoke the anger and displeasure of the Indians and to a large extent a large proportion of the other communities is to ever think about bestowing a title like “Tan Sri” leave alone “Tun” on SV. He has squandered a lot of opportunities to help uplift the Indians.

SV came in capturing the imagination of the Indians and we were to a large extent behind him in the early years. A few years in power and he went off the rails. One debacle after another in the form of Maika holdings, the Telecom Shares to mention but a few certainly does not entitle him to be even considered for one of those titles. I do not think those titles are meant to be bestowed on individuals who have been a disappointment to a large proportion of their communities!

It is quite shocking to one to listen to the whisperings of the wealth accumulated by SV over the time he has been in the cabinet.

If Pak Lah would like to rebuild his political stocks he can begin with the Indians. He can by helping show SV the door! There a lots of capable young Indians who can rebuild the MIC to make it relevant to the Indians! However the boil (SV) has to be lanced before anything can get better.
