India Trip Day 6

The following are events that took place on 9th July 2009 and covers Kumbakonam-Tirunageswaram-Uppiliyappan-Tirukarugavur-Darasuram-Swamimalai-Thanjavur route. Read about the previous day here.

Photo of the day:

Checked out from Hotel Green Park, Kumbakonam, early in the morning and went to Tirunageswaram at about 7.30am. Tirunageswaram houses another important nava graham deity – Lord Rahu.

Left the temple and went to Uppiliappan temple which is just 0.5km from Tirunageswaram. Spent about half an hour at this Perumal temple.

Smoking parents?

Had early dinner at Ratha Curry House in Bandar Puteri today. And the following left a bad taste in my mind (nope, not the food!):

A guy was smoking, seated next to a boy aged about 7-10 years old. OK, I can still take that, considering secondary smoking is hazardous and setting a bad example for the boy. What I saw next scared me!  There was a lady seated opposite the man, and she smoked too, two pieces of poison sticks within 15 mins or so.  And this is witnessed by the boy. I presume the man and woman was the parents (even though they were of different race) since all three came together.

Really disturbing! They both looked educated, but in reality?

Saravana Bhavan Restaurant Klang

Ghee Thosai

Was in Klang last weekend, and decided to have breakfast at Saravana Bhavan restaurant, near the bridge at Jalan Tengku Kelana.

The place was quiet with little crowd. We (2 person) had:

1 set of poori (2)

1 set of idli (2)

1 vadai

1 ghee thosai

1 masala tea

1 Bru coffee

total cost was RM20.90, which is about 40% (RM8) more expensive than normal restaurants.
