According to HINDRAF’ memorandum sent to Menteri Besar Nizar, 60 councillors were promised to be from the Indian community, but only 48 were selected in the end. This is just 7 more than the number of councillor under the previous government. The delegation to submit memorandum was led by Perak Hindraf coordinator Vathe Murthi.
Further more, figures from Statistics Department indicate that 13% of the state’s population (300,000) are Indians.
Hindraf wants the new government to revert back to its promise and also initiate affirmative policies to provide vast opportunities in all fields in both public and private sectors to marginalised Indians.
It’s pointless to merely talk on correcting the wrongs done by the
previous BN state government when one failed to prove it’s a government
with a difference.
HINDRAF warned that Nizar should act firmly, fairly and meet its demands. If not the movement may resort to other means (demonstration) to voice their satisfaction. Pakatan should not forget the contribution of Makkal Sakthi, says its coordinator.

Please don’t make me laugh lah….I know the week-end coming but this is funny..hahahahahaha
There is nothing that HINDRAF can do and for all intent and purpose HINDRAF is like a discarded banana leaf after a meal. What Pakatan wanted was our votes, they used HINDRAF and then discarded them.
I had warned this before the GE but of course no one was in the mood listen.
It is not only in Perak but also in Penang, Kedah and Selangor too. In Penang, even Thendran’s own state, he was not given any post so what’s more in other states.
That’s why I am saying this again that HINDRAF had been used but in the end all their struggle ended in nothing. You can talk about Federal govt’s efforts in making changes due to HINDRAF but I don’t think so. As a follower of the programs for Indians, many of these initiatives were old ones and some of the newers were from MIC/YSS. I also think the BN is trying to regain its support of Indians by these programs too, so there is more urgency now.
On the other hand, PR just took Indians for a ride. Do you know that in terms of %, the Indians are the strongest supporters of Pakatan ? But did we get rewarded for that ? In fact we were taken for ride.
As I can see the only thing we have is the DCM Penang post. But then Prof Rama has said he is not representing Indians but all Penangites so I guess we need to strike that out.
Even in HINDRAF’s own backyard of Kapar, the HINDRAF MP Manickavasagam can’t save a temple from demliition.
I also wonder why none of the Indian MPs and ADUNs voiced their concerns and issue statements. While they are so quick to lodge police reports, issue statements and file suits, sad when it comes to demand our rights they are so silent.
I also predict, in the event of HINDRAF declare war against Pakatan, none of the Indian MPs/ADUNs will resign. They would rather stay and enjoy the fruits of their position than standing by their position.
well….. i always like to think in different angle ….. Indians were giving more than 90% support for BN for 50years …… so what different that BN made that PA failed to make ? You may argue BN has done ‘abcd’ but the people didnt agree .

the Perak government is PAS (which is an ISLAM based party), even they can accept the memorandum from HINDRAF (which is a Hindu based organization ).
What do you mean they are doing great ? Unless you are reading exclusively the PR websites, you would have noted that the 4 states are in a mess.
Perak govt is NOT Islam based but just the MB is from that Islamic party. Just because he received the memo means nothing. What we want is ACTION. Indians have voted for PR and PR must deliver its promises.
And don’t tell we have to wait for 50 years. If you say, PR will be out even before the next GE.

The fact remains that despite the Indian community throwing their support behind HINDRAF and PR. they have been cheated as what ever promised was not fulfilled.
And I don’t buy that idiotic reason that PR is new. I can accept the reason if we talk about long term plans but this is about something that can be and should be done NOW.
Guys don’t think Indians are stupid. Don’t tell us PR needs another 5 to 10 years to give Indians more seats in the councils / excos.
You keep evading my questions on what PR has delivered to Indians from the demands that HINDRAF made in their memo to PM and the British PM. I can see the result is ZERO. In fact the situation of Indians is now worse off.

You know what I think ? I think VJ, Killi, suraj and others actually PKR supporters who are using MS/HINDRAF to gain the objectives. From their posts it is quite obvious to me now that they are more interested in PKR than helping Indians. That’s why they keep defending PKR/PR.
I should have realised this before. Rather careless of me.
May be many readers/Indians don’t realise that many PKR/DAP leaders and supporters are not interested in Indian’s welfare but to gain votes using HINDRAF to get into Parlianment / State Assembly. That’s why we see they keep quiet when there are issues facing the Indians in PR ruled states. The ettapan-like behaviour of Sivanesan (as reported in Nanban) is an example.

There are already proofs right in your face bro, just that you refuse to see or pretend not to. Sivanesan’s statement in response to HINDRAF was a proof. And Prof Rama saying he is the rep for all races is another betrayal. During the GE these 2 guys only spoke about MS, HINDRAF and Indian’s plight. But how come they have changed their tunes now ? Didn’t they were given the chance to contest and also give post because they are Indians ?
Let’s take Prof Rama for example. What have Prof Rama done for Indians in Penang ? Has he initiated anything at all ? He is just a poodle for the Chinese in the DAP. He just wants to keep his position and he will do whatever Lim Guan Eng says.
I have met Prof Rama recently in one of the Penang state govt functions and I can tell you all that no one respects him at all. Not the Chinese nor the Malays. And because he doesn’t help Indians, even the Indian community has given up on him.
In that function no one even spoke to Prof Rama and he was left on alone, the only Indian in the VIP table. No one spoke to him or anyone bothered about him even though he was the DCM2. Even junior DAP leaders didn’t even acknowledge him though there was much respect for othe DAP guys without exco position.
I remember some guys calling Samy as UMNO’s mandor. But even though he was not the DPM, he was a much respected senior minister that everyone respected because of his ability. Even the Malays respected and feared him.
Has Prof Rama done anything positive so far ? ZERO. Did he spoke up when HINDRAF and Indian leaders were deprived posts in the councils ? Was he bold enough in asking for quota for state govt and bodies ? A Big fat NO. Did he promote the demands that HINDRAF presented to the Malaysian and UK PMs ? Another ZERO.
I would love to see MS/HINDRAF withdraw support for PR and call upon all Indian MPs and ADUNs to resign. Then we can really see the true colour of these PR’s Indian reps. I would love to bet with VJ & Killi at that time on how many will resign.
I will tell you this VJ/Killi….time that HINDRAF withdraw support for PR is not too far off. It is just weeks and months away…certainly before the year end. Even before Deepavalli. All the signs are there.
