Being a registered voter in my hometown (which is a mere 30 minutes from my current location), I took the weekend opportunity to see for myself the happenings at the nomination centre. The nomination for parliament seat P110 (Klang) and its 3 state seats (Port Klang N46, Pandaraman N47, and Kota Alam Shah N48) was held at Dewan Hamzah. I got an SMS from a friend saying the supporters for Manoharan will be marching from Chetty Padang (field) instead of Lecthumanan Hall as mentioned a day earlier. Anyway, I reached Dewan Hamzah at about 9.15am, by which the candidates were already in the nomination centre. The police had closed some of the roads, so I had some problem finding parking. Manoharan Nomination Invitation
February 24th, 2008Manoharan will be represented by his wife Ms Pushpa to submit his nomination papers at Dewan Hamzah Klang. The supporters will be gathering at 8am at Letchumanan Hall (behind Convent school) before walking to the nomination centre.
The operation centre for M. Manoharan is located at No. 65 Jalan Istana, Klang.
He will be against Gerakan candidate for the N48 Kota Alam Shah state seat. Gerakan won the seat in 2004 with a majority of 2700++ votes. Total voters is around 16k.

February 22nd, 2008I was at a family function today and had a shock! Imagine ladies aged between 20s and 50s talking politics, instead of mega-serials and cooking recipes. Well, that’s what HINDRAF has done. These ladies are the working category, in a multi-racial environment. They shared their experiences and latest news (rumours as well) on current election campaign. From Saravanan (standing in Tapah) being labelled with not-so-kind-words, to talking about situation if no indian representatives are in parliment, these ladies signify the huge leap that is happening in the Indian community. » Read more: Indian women power at work!
