She should also consider registering an appeal via MIC since they have a representative in cabinet. The community has no choice but to rely on MIC in this case because of the race based politics.
As Samy suggests, it should be an automatic offer for students who fulfill certain criteria – certain number of As and/or family income. The should be a system integration between MES and JPA so that details of students can be linked. This will avoid cases of not being able to apply online, loss of data, incomplete/invalid application, incorrect data entry etc., and most importantly ensure no deserving students are left out. We are sick and tired of reading in the papers, year after year, students begging for scholarship. Simple thing also cannot solve.
Imagine only 34 get scholarship, out of possibly 2000++ places. Not even 5%, but about 2% only! And already have 194 appeals.
