I first heard about the launching of Unity week over the radio two days ago. Anyway, saw these scenes on the way to Angels and Demons movie today. There’s a stage set in the IOI new wing. The center are of the new wing is a small place, I think barely 300 people can fit into it.

Some dance group were rehearsing on stage. There’s also an exhibition being setup on Unity.

Note: These are the first photos to be taken from hp and put up in the blog.

Bad Experience at Old Town Kopitiam IOI Mall

I was supposed to write about this last week, but forgot. Good thing Then reminded me again. It was JCard day at Jusco IOI Mall Puchong, so I went there to buy some things ..ahem….

In the midst of shopping, we decided to take a break and go for breakfast (we went early, at 8am to Jusco). So, proceeded to Old Town Kopitiam located on the ground floor (facing outside). Then and I ordered one of the breakfast sets each, just like some other patrons there. We waited, and waited, and waited, and waited…for about 45 minutes!. Only the drinks came early. My food also came within 15 minutes, but the mee hoon took ages. The Malay lady at next table walked off (I guess she came earlier and was waiting like us as well). Other patrons were also looking anxiously. Then, after inquiring from the waiter, found out the mee hoon stock was depleted, and they were preparing a new set!

The other grouse we had with the place is the inability to communicate with the workers – they smile and nod their heads, but most of the time misunderstand our question. We asked a simple question – how long would it take for the food to arrive – but no proper answer from 2 of the serving staff. I think its time for Old Town to go Malaysia Boleh and hire local staff.

We left without Then getting her mee hoon, and the counter guy had some common sense to not charge her for the drink.

We decided to boycott Kopitiam in IOI Mall until further notice.

Today was Mindsblog‘s photography outing. This time, it was held at Putrajaya. We started at 11.30am and walk around Dataran Putra, Accountant’s Office building, and Seri Wawasan bridge.

Total of 9 people took part – Then, Selian, Amutha, Rames, Raja, Mala, Murali, Vishnu and I.

It was a tiring day due to the heat, but we had a good time taking snaps of practically anything and everything 🙂

Well, we had some visitors at home, who were actually enthusiastic on this Earth Hour campaign. I’m not into all these hype stuff. Close for one hour, but the rest of our lives we waste million times over 🙂

Anyway, we ended up switching off everything, bar the fridge and UPS.  I saw some houses along the street were dark too.

In case you’re wondering, there’s a street light outside the house, that’s why its quite bright even at night.

Managed to catch some photos of the hot air balloons in Putrajaya last weekend. There were some pretty cool designs – pink elephants, peacock. Nescafe mug, clown, etc.
