I saw TV3’s Pathmavathy on TV live from the scene tonight. The crowd “tidak berkurangan”, she said. Not reducing since 5pm. I guess the folks are reaaaaaalllly pissed off that Grand Saga it seems, used gangsters to whack the residents. This was after police rejected Grand Saga’s request for protection for the barriers, since there’s no court order.

Grand Saga obviously denies any knowledge of the gangsters, claiming that “it could have been instigated by certain parties”. Well, we all wonder who those parties could be.  As far a I can see, the only party which is affected is Grand Saga.

“Grand Saga wishes to state that it disassociates itself from the altercations between several parties yesterday and that it does not condone violence in any form,” said the company’s executive director Zainal Abidin Ali (left) in statement today.

Zainal said the incident could have been instigated by certain parties and that the company would be filing a police report on that fracas.

Not sure if Cheras folks appreciate the sympathy wishes from the company.

“Grand Saga further wishes to extend its sympathy to the several persons who sustained injuries in the unfortunate incident,” said Zainal, who is former Dang Wangi police chief.

When the residents complained that police who were there did not do anything, this is the reply:

Kajang police chief Shakaruddin Che Mood, however, said they were only traffic policemen whom he had sent to the area for traffic control. “They were too busy controlling traffic and could not do anything,” he told reporters, adding that five police reports have been lodged on the assault.

Is this guy for real? Traffic control more important or saving people from being attacked by thugs more important?

Earlier, Alex, the Klang MIC Division chairmen condemned Samy Vellu over the running of MIC. Now he goes one step further and makes a police report over Maika shares handled by MIC and Samy. NST carried an article (below), but copies of the report are shown online at Malaysia Today. He is reported to have said that documents are available to support his claims.

As usual, the reports will be investigated at their own leisurely pace. Meanwhile, what will happen to Alex? People who raise hands in MAIKA AGM also “kena hentam”, what more of own party man making police report?

Alex to lose MIC post in next few days?

This was one of the hot topic in Kapar, something that MP at that time, MIC’s Komala could not solve. Pre-election, it was a foregone conclusion that the Indian votes will go to current ruling state government.

Whatever it is, justice should be served. The folks who toiled the land should have been given a chance to own it first. Their curses will not let the families who took over the land to have a happy life.

I remember the folks even demonstrated, but were threatened with arrest. In fact legal action were taken against the TOL holders. However, Malay Mail and Sun highlighted this issue quite prominently, creating awareness among the public.

DBKL fighters

I was have early dinner at a restaurant at Jalan Hang Lekiu, KL (the road that leads to the church near Menara Maybank and Telekom Museum). At about 5.45pm, there were shouts of “gaduh, gaduh” (fight, fight) and some patrons went out to catch the action.

When I went out, there were 8 DBKL staff, 2 policemen, a patrol car, and a plump Chinese guy with torn t-shirt. One of the policemen was writing down something, while about 40 onlookers were crowding the area.

From what I gathered from eye witnesses,  3 DBKL officers came and were writing summons for those shops that left their garbage outside their premises along the road. The Chinese guy (from one of the shops) argued why they only summoned his shop while ignoring others. It seems the DBKL guys called him to go to back alley, and then can hear people fighting, chairs smashed. Many people witnessed this. Not sure when the other 5 DBKL people came into the picture.
The chinese guy then called the police and dared the DBKL staff to stay there till the police came. When the police arrived, he was seen to make a report against the BKL staff.  He then left the scene, while the crowd also started to dispersed.
