Samy quiet on MIC joining Pakatan

Firstly, I doubt MIC was invited since it will defeat the non-race based concept, plus who wants a loser party?. Most likely some of their leader were approached by Pakatan Rakyat leaders, especially those who are against Samy Vellu or don’t see a future in MIC.

As for the rebranding exercise, obviously it would not involve the leadership. Everything will be changed from uniform to ethics, but the person at top remain the same. More than 60 days already, and nothing much had changed.

Another issue is the comments by Alex, the Klang MIC division chairman who branded (wow…branding exercise, i guess!) Samy Vellu a “dictator” among others, which prompted some CWC members to ask for his sacking. Nijhar who disagreed left the meeting. Nijhar is just counting his days as his place will be taken over and he would be soon forgotten. Better to leave than to suffer humiliation. » Read more: Samy quiet on MIC joining Pakatan

MIC unhappy only 34 offered JPA scholarships

We read yesterday about Kamine Devi who scored 10A1s not being offered anything  by PSD (JPA). She should also consider registering an appeal via MIC since they have a representative in cabinet. The community has no choice but to rely on MIC in this case because of the race based politics.

As Samy suggests, it should be an automatic offer for students who fulfill certain criteria  – certain number of As and/or family income. The should be a system integration between MES and JPA so that details of students can be linked. This will avoid cases of not being able to apply online, loss of data, incomplete/invalid application, incorrect data entry etc., and most importantly ensure no deserving students are left out. We are sick and tired of reading in the papers, year after year, students begging for scholarship. Simple thing also cannot solve.

Imagine only 34 get scholarship, out of possibly 2000++ places. Not even 5%, but about 2% only! And already have 194 appeals.

Let’s wait for MCA to reveal the numbers.   » Read more: MIC unhappy only 34 offered JPA scholarships

Hmm….looks like end of the chapter for Alex. Maybe he waiting for party leaders to sack him so that can jump ship to PKR/DAP soon?

Anyways, Samy is still on his nationwide roadshow agenda to brainwash the community. There’s even a new slogan now – New Generation Party! Well, for starters, there should be a rule making those aged 70 and above to retire gracefully or forcefully. Ooops..that means Samy himself!

He talks about the same things that MCA, Gerakan, and many others have said. Well, better late than never 🙂 We can see the trend now where the leaders say they already know about the discontent/unhappiness of the community. But all the while since November 25 last year, the opposite was mentioned – “community is happy”, etc. Now all change tune 🙂 that’s politics and politicians for you! I bet they did not even began to comprehend the magnitude of their impending losses, but now have to pretend as if they knew it all along to hide their incompetence. » Read more: Dr S Subra says leaders must think multiracial

THE MIC wants the Government to scrap Remove Class for Tamil and Chinese school pupils, saying these classes are no longer relevant under the current education system. In a letter to Education Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, the party urged him to take steps to abolish these classes, reported Tamil Nesan.

MIC information chief Datuk M. Saravanan called on the minister to review the system based on feedback from the Indian community.

According to him, the status of remove classes should be reviewed because they had become redundant as Science and Mathematics are now being taught in English.
